I could be mistaken, but I believe the NY show has surpassed DTW in terms of press coverage, and international attention. NAIAS has been fading of late as the preferred venue for new intros and more domestic industry focused. GM wants a big international splash here.

NAIAS is getting a complete face lift after this year and is gong to change to summer after this. This is GMs chance to end the NAIAS show with a bang. Or they could wait a year and do the new opening with a Big Bang lol.

How about a split reveal, e.g., a removable roof coupe at NAIAS and the HT convertible at New York?

They did that with the C7. The Coupe was shown in Detroit and the Convertible in New York

The sooner the reveal, the sooner the actual info on pricing / options, etc. comes out causing the trolls posing as insiders to retreat back to the dark corners of their bridge habitat.

I'm thinking the reveal will be at the NYC show. Chevy still has a bunch of C7's to move before they reveal the new model.

If they do NYC, then they can still show the new car at the Michelin BASH at the NCM in late April. I plan to be there. Beers on me at Cliffs !!

While I agree GM has an inventory of C7 they need to sell, they can give additional discounts, 0% interest financing, and dealer incentives to move them. They need to get the new ME/C8 into production and into dealer's lots ASAP to generate new sales & profits. The dealers want the new cars.

Feels like it was just yesterday we were going through this with the C7 reveal. And here we are five years later going through it again. Time flies!

If GM is trying to build the excitement for a new corvette release it is making me depressed. It is a matter of when not where and they have run out of time for Detroit.. To me they are not ready, technical issues? The C8 at Nurburgring was leaking. The C7 had overheating issues, the C8 will be more of a challenge.

I wouldn't be upset that one of the Nurburgring cars sprung a leak. That's the entire point of testing. Push it hard and break it, then make it better.

There was an NSX prototype that burned to the ground at the Nurburgring. I don't think a single production NSX has caught fire.

At our recent Corvette club meeting a car dealer said that the C8 was supposed to be announced in Detroit, but has been delayed until April, which would make it the New York show. Take it for what it's worth.

San Jose. And how is that relevant to this discussion?

Thats interesting. Makes me think they don't have a mid engine veto available to show? Which also makes me think it won't be released in 2020 then, but its all speculation. At least till the Detroit auto show then either we will see it or have to wait up to possibly another year lol. I can't imagine what these threads are going to be like if its not released by the Detroit show lol. Also the plant tours closed until whatever the announcement date is. Would totally suck to buy a new C7 and not have museum delivery with plant tour part not available.
