Default Engine cover up

Has everyone seen the pic with the engine cover up or hood as they call it? It’s massive. Where is a drone when you need one?

It is huge and should allow some nice access to the engine and also the storage shelf hidden inside ! ; )

There's gotta be a fairly large (certainly wide) storage area behind the engine's air box, and above the transmission/exhaust. With its cubic space added to the frunk I bet the total will be real close to what a C7 coupe measures.

Anyone know who the fellow is in the Norton t-shirt? Anyone know who replaced Jim Mero as Corvette Ride and Handling Engineer?

Here's cargo space afforded by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated flat six. Even with the optimal engine configuration, there is little space above the engine:

The C8's rear deck is taller than the Caymen's so with cunning packaging could the C8 feature stowage space above the engine? Probably not since the bay will be sized to house a much taller DOHC V8. And check out the shape of the air intake assembly, it looks like it was designed to fit against a vertical firewall between the engine and cargo bay. The cats are roughly over the rear axles, so maybe the cargo bay begins 4 - 6 inches behind the rear axle?

The rear of the C8. The sides will be filled with air tunnels to direct air from the scoops over heat exchanges and out the rear vents (and probably some into the rear engine bay). The light fixtures look somewhat shallow so maybe the cargo bay will abut closer to the rear's exterior than in the C7? I don't know how that works out with crash regulations.

The rear overhang is tight against the rear axle. Where's the room for an ample cargo bay?

I'm stumped as to how the C8 has a rear cargo bay any larger than the C7 convertible, and it probably will stop further from the rear axles than the convertible's, though hopefully it runs closer to the rear exterior. It won't be as wide since the C8 has to move a lot of air out of those vents on the sides of the rear end.

The biggest issue with mid-engine cars is packaging. There is no significant room for cargo. Which is fine. Only quick Costco runs in the Zora.

I would guess it's about the size of the current C7 convertible with top partition in the fixed position as pictured just above, and there will be additional storage in the "frunk."

Might be a nice sized trunk up front. Not as big as the Corvair's though.
