Lotsacubes, Yeah i agree, but it seems that those renders are based on the C8 R and not the road car. The wheel wells on the C8 R are pushed up much higher it looks great but thats just not the way it is on the road car.

You are quite right but I can't help myself. I follow the trend set by the C4,5,6 7 and the R cars. The street C8 is way too high here and the first thing I'll do, is move my wheel arches up and lower the car. I'm stuck on this side scoop also.

BD, you’re saying if you superimpose those two, the profiles would match and the only difference would be rear wheel opening? I’m on my iPad today away from my workstation otherwise I’d do that superposition to see if the top of the rear fenders and end of car matches. Stunning if just wheel opening affects visual balance that much. Thx

The analogy is unavoidable, a large butt moves your mental focus from a pretty face. If there is one....

Finally...someone does a rendering accurate to all the photos we've seen and the hints from the C8R

That one is pretty old. It also doesn't make any effort to account for the vinyl camo that is obviously being used to conceal the true shape of the side scoop. You can see the vinyl deforming due to air pressure in this pic (and many others). It will be interesting to see how the side scoops end up looking on the real car, as Chevy is making a nice effort at keeping them hidden from everyone.

and if air gets in between the vinyl and the body underneath at speed, what happens? You get exactly what you see in your picture, a giant air bubble. In your photo, the vinyl is most likely being ripped away from the body. The strange deformations at the bottom suggest that is most likely what is happening. Its not the outline of the scoop

The image used by CarScoops reflects a scoop that follows the edge of the door seam and then meets the upper ledge a few inches behind the door seam which is exactly whats on the prototype race car thats been driving around without fake panels and without extra vinyl. It also reflects the secondary edge on the scoop that suggests it will probably have lip of carbon or flash carbon on its upper edge

While the big 3 renderers are getting close together, it's amazing how subtle little differences make some pop more than others. The above is now my favorite.

Once “The Reveal” comes, it would be a blast to have the designers on the Corvette team come on and comment on the various renders we have here from the forum members,

Wow. Great job. Seriously, well done.

My money says this side scoop is very close to what we’ll see unveiled. It matches pretty close to the scoop placement in the leaked rear quarter photo:

It just might be placed a little high in the render. The photo shows it coming together closer to the bottom rocker.

I don't see any distinguishing detail in that photo. Can you show any shape you think you see? Is it just the very angular dark spot you are talking about?

It's a disaster. The nose is the the same height as the wheel.
