Another theory I have is that this rear quarter panel is an overlay that fits over the actual body for the camouflaged cars. Ferrari, BMW and other have done this and the material they use appears to be very similar to what’s pictured here.

Could be.... but then why is it in a spray booth... only to be covered with camo?
; )

So what are your thoughts on the thing I outlined? When you compare it to that CAD drawing overlay you remapped or whatever, it looks like it could be in the right spot if you just kinda rotate that overlay a little.

This actually makes a lot of sense because the camo car outlines just don’t look that good. I think the actual car will have more beautiful flowing lines rather than the sharp angular lines we’ve seen on the mules.

I didn’t realize it was a spray booth haha. So ya, that’s probably it.

IF that area shows a triangular section as you suggested then it does line up with the CAD and my renderings suggesting the shape of the scoop "hole" and cover. At least the tip of it.
Also note the yellow holes behind the scoop. They are at the same height and straight to the wheel well as the paint shop fender ends suggesting a separate bottom section to the fender. Maybe with additional brake cooling intakes for the z06/ZR1 models?
BDS agreed with my assessment of the outer shape (for now ; ) ) and included it in his model.

Man i would love to get my hands on the full resolution versions of those paint shop pics. But while we wait for new leaks here is a new 360 render

Thank you very much bdsvavars. Excellent 360 video rendering. It looks like its Euro-exotic competitors, yet distinctly a Corvette. Well done!

Ya I do product development and industrial design as a career, and these types of obviously flawed criticisms are extremely annoying and a pain in the ***. I appreciate constructive and critically negative feedback, if it has merit. This "Nose is as high as the wheel" is so freaking redonculously wrong.
Every single time the finished product comes out and looks way beyond what they though from renderings because most people are wholly incapable of visualizing something monoscopic in a real 3D space stereoscopically. As much as they think they see, they almost always go, "Oh wow, I didn't realize it looked quite like this. Looks awesome" Ya, that's why I'm the professional designer and you're not. I've had a few duds along the way but such is the nature of conceptualizing and trying new things.

Well, I just copied your wheel base which is a little long. Makes chassis design challenging. Lovely 360' job above. I see you attempted to address the shape of the rear deck. Still not there. The tools in your box require much learning to use properly, that is if your brain has that God given ability to see the surfaces and perspective.. The front side view is perfect. Roof shape and side glass needs work. The rear has a huge convex curve (plan view).which is absent from your render. Check out FVS's work below with a little bit of love from me..
I'm sure you will get it right in a couple of years. Looking forward to the real thing.

As an experienced industrial designer, I'm frankly surprised you haven't noticed the discrepancy; all objective evidence thus far suggests the front end of the C8 is extremely short and extremely high--proportionally.
