I think that will feel like a comparison between a 718 Cayman GTS vs a Carrera GTS. It's really driver preference and though one would think similar, likely radically different in a myriad of subtle and no subtle ways. I think the buyer that looks at Evora and C8, has a unique criteria of ownership and expectation. Evora is definitely Cayman territory, but in some instances I can definitely see "driver enthusiasts" battling between a Cayman GTS and a Z51 or even maybe a Z06. One is a hammer, one is more of a scalpel. C8 mid engine could bridge gaps making the tradictional Corvette hammer more of a laser guided precision bomb...costs more, but becomes more deadly, powerful and precise.
Very tough question that only a very specific buyer could answer...by driving both and thinking long and hard.

Why, what's the point? How do you compare two cars when one of them hasn't been released and no one knows any details? Just look at real world reviews of the Evora (very poor quality) and hope the C8 doesn't end up like that.

Unless this has changed lately, the only way to get a new Evora in the states is to pre-order it. Lotus is NOT filling unsold (dealer) orders anymore (for the Evora).
Here you go on the Evora

The Evora has a crapload of cargo space rearward of the transversely mounted V6. If GM can exceed that on the longer wheelbase C8 which has a higher rear deck than the Evora, then combined with the frunk it may be a match for the C7's practicality.

The reliability comparison is curious here. Evoras handle abuse on track much better than C7s. Even if the C8 is a gigantic step forward in reliability I don't see why anyone would get a C8 for that reason vs. an Evora.
Evora is a niche product, a driver's car that's light, agile, with great feedback and carefully weighed components. Corvette is in a different category, more of a numbers, looks, sound, comfort sports car. There are few drivers that would cross shop the two.

ME Corvette will be better built but the steering feel won't be as good as the Lotus not many cars can compete in steering feel. I owned EvoraS GT it was a Frankenstein car that used many manufacturers parts. Unbelievable steering and handling with modest power to weight ratio. Build quality was the best Lotus has ever produced but still had many fit and finish issues. Mine never broke other than the occasional AC that stoped working on the track and when I went to the dealer it was fine. I took mine completely apart during Thanksgiving week of 2013, many pictures and frustrating days but when I put it back together it was a better tighter car. The 410 is a much better car than mine since they had many years to perfect the Evora. Lotus is now owned by the same Chinese company that owns Volvo. Look at my Avatar that is the Lotus

I love the look and performance of the Evora but could never go with Lotus because of their horrid reliability.

Then you have the entire U.S. population of Evoras in Texas. No doubt the Evora (and Lotus) do better in Europe, but as you can see below, they ain't setting the woods on fire in their home market either.
I can't find U.S. sales for the Evora, but here are EUROPEAN sales:

2016: 200

Was just reading that the Evora 410 would be produced in a quantity of only 150 a year. This was a 2016 news article.

Car and drivers lightning lap in the evora 410 performed well?
i dont remember ever seeing any Published amercian test data on the lotus....so its not a loaded question but rather an honest one...
glad to see this iconic british brand still around ......
any owners ever daily drive a lotus?
when ever they seem to go up for sale the mileage is usually ultra low....
evay listings : https://www.ebay.com/b/Lotus-Evora-C...01/bn_24011120

There are 2 Evoras in stock and 1 on the way to the Austin Lotus dealer. The local race track (Harris Hill) was originally owned and built by the owner of the Lotus dealership.
There were 3 at my last track day in fact.
They are amazing cars and pretty much hit all my hot buttons, except for the value one.
A Corvette really is much more practical long term.
If the new owner of Lotus can provide an $80k Gt430ish type car with a 2+2 with a bit more QC, it's no contest for me, I'd order one.
