There's a quality about the sound of the shift that's like a perfectly executed manual shift. It's fast and crisp.

The most obvious way is to listen for downshifts, where there is a little blip as the trans rev-matches. It happens in auto mode as the car comes down to a stop for instance. Put headphones on and listen carefully at 0:18 as the car rolls to a stop

I own a DCT car, a VW Golf R, and many other owners of DCT cars have agreed that the videos we've seen so far show DCT shifting.

So many here are sure that a DCT is all that will be offered in the C8. Others feel that it will have a manual available. Statement was made that ALL the camo C8s have the DCT. A lot of varied opinions.

Seems that the transaxles could have been developed and perfected in the back end of C7 test mules. Maybe the manual and auto are perfected and ready for production. The DCT may not be to that point yet, so it is still being tested in hopes of getting it to a point where it could be produced.

Thing is is there is so much misinformation out there that no one knows what is actually coming down the line.

HIgh performance DCT transaxles have been around for several years now in the mid-engined exotics. Both Tremec and ZF have them already. It's not new technology. GM will be perfecting the electronics to best match the engine in the different modes they'll offer.

It's not so much "misinformation" as speculation on the forums. There's been a lot of wishful speculation about the possibility of a MT version. But every auto journalist has agreed the car will have a DCT, and some have gone so far as to say it will be the only trans (C&D earlier this year for instance).

Listen to it shifting in the video. NO WAY is that a manual or a TC auto.

We all probably need to preface any and all of our comments with “in my opinion”

You're right, we don't know 100%, but a few different and independent reports have claimed that insiders confirm it to be the Tremec unit. There's also the fact that in 2016 Tremec invested $54 million in a HQ/tranny manufacturing plant in Wixom, MI.
