Default When do you think we'll get official "word" from GM?

With today being November 23rd 2018, when do you think GM will publish either an official announcement of the Corvette C8 or release their first teaser-video?

I tried to add a poll, but didn't get it in within the 5 minute limit ...

So here's the choices I was thinking:

1 - Before 11/30/18
2 - Between 12/1/18 - 12/31/18
3 - Between 01/01/19 - 01/31/19
4 - After 02/01/19

I had some Intel it could be this week or next week. Let me say now; I am concerned that the longer they take to get us more details or even admit it's being built; the further out the release will be. C7 sales are at a snail pace which is not good for dealers and I would think any announcement will not help as long as the ME is priced in line with history. We keep hearing the car is following the normal timeline whatever that truly means and GM will release it when they are ready. That sounds good but knowing GM finance and their goals of making money and paying for the BG upgrade; I think they will have their thump on lower leadership to keep things moving forward. It's a good balance as long as the car is fully vetted and ready to go which is always the engineer's goal. More and more large publicly traded companies are being controlled by finance with a CEO.s focus on shareholder value.

I just wish GM would make the official announcement as soon as possible. Just have them tell everybody when the car is going to be introduced and where.

The Porsche 911 is being announced next week and GM is playing this secrecy game with the ME.

Porsche announced that the new 911, hitting dealers next year, quite a few months ago. They have even given journalists test rides and have published pictures, and have announced the order of release of the various models. Toyota announced some weeks ago that the new Supra will be shown in Detroit. BMW showed the new Z4 in Monterrey in August and it won't be out until next year. GM is acting like the "Top Secret" 2020 ME C8 Corvette is a government secret and that mentioning a word about it will threaten national security. Everyone and their brother knows that the car will be in showrooms sometime during the 2nd half of next year, and the car will most likely be shown at the NYC show in April. (if it was Detroit, that would have been leaked or announced by now, since Detroit is 7 weeks from today). In my opinion, the game GM is playing is crap. They have many loyal customers that have purchase many Corvettes over the years. I am on my 11th. Therefor, I think it would be good PR for GM to at least announce when and where the car will be introduced, the base price, and when production will begin. Whether they do this or not, because we all know that 2019 will be the year of the C8, the sale of remaining C7's will realty not be affected.

When they are ready. The "new" Porsche is not really new, just a tweaked iteration of the same thing.

The anticipation factor of the C8 unveiling is running high. We will learn it in the fullness of time. 👍

We still do not definitively know when the ME will be revealed, but the drums are beating louder for a later reveal.

Are you looking at getting the 1st year model C8, as you did in Fall of 2013 purchasing your C7?

those thinking that pricing will coincide with the release of the car are going to be disappointed

there may be some vanilla "if you can afford x you can afford y" quotes but there will be nothing concrete until Q2

to beat a dead horse my guess is NYC and a base $63995

Not following the schedule from the C7 press release and debut...

On October 18, 2012, GM made an official news announcement confirming it would debut on Sunday evening, January 13, 2013, in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.[3]
