Dealers usually know - nothing.

They should have given the C8 to Ford to reveal then we wouldn't have all this garbage going on about it. They would have made it epic, not a looney toons production like they are doing now lol

It will be as follows:

1) Four cars (as stated above)
2) all four cars are Grand Sports (also as stated above)
3) How the cars are configured is unknow, but paint and stripe packages are different
4) to honor various winners/winning teams

Well, it is great sport to guess and rumor about all the various aspects of the C8 as we do for all the new generations. It is not GM that is drawing things out. It is the Vette follower who always is ready for the guessing and rumors well before GM is ready to produce the car. So, have fun driving your current Vette and the day will arrive when all the guess work will be over.

What we have seen is clearly the next generation Corvette and it is an ME.
Did you ever think that GM could be putting non-ME panels on the ME platform for testing and that the real car is still deep in hiding.

Way better and more relevant if they were to do it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans...not to mention it's a WAY more epic race than the Indy 500.

The C8.R caught on video pretty much dispels that theory.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are details that remain hidden, but the basic form is known. What's interesting about that is that the "details" can have a huge impact on the overall looks of the vehicle.

My hypothesis is, GM will release the car when Crysler's Charger, Challenge and Ford's Mustang will change their body styles. That would be the determining factors for me if I made the decisions at GM. I'm going to say 2022. The last C6 ZR1's production run was 5 years.

C5 - 8 years
C6 - 9 years
C7 - 6 years assuming they stop making them in 2019

Math doesn't add up because I think GM's making great numbers with the C7 and the C8 assuming ME would be a gamble. Just a guess though.

I think I should point out, C5+C6 = 17yrs...on the core architecture. So, that would mean 17yrs on the platform, versus 6yrs for C7. I agree entirely, with cdsymphony, it doesn't add up to dispose of C7 already.

when the first spy pics came out the car was covered in a loose flapping cloth covering.
It helped hide much of the shape.
But the latest tight fitting, swirly looking black and white camo covering pretty much shows 95% of the true shape.
Doubt we'll see much difference except for minor body details and color schemes/accents when it's finally unveiled

I predict folks will be quite surprised at how many details we didn't see under the camo, including some significant aspects of the design.

Yes, some of the late C7 camo cars come to mind. Note the front grill camo and the round tail lights.

Yep, in particular, note the fake piece under the covering on the C7 door above completely concealing the actual shape, and the overall blocky look of the car, which is nothing like the real thing. I think we're seeing the same tricks on the C8 mules.

If a Chevy dealer said it, then it must be fake news.

I don't believe a single one of these dopey posts! Why don't we just throw darts at a spinning wheel? That's about as accurate as most of these speculators are. Sure glad you guys aren't handling my 401K! I'd say to all you guys, "Take a Chill Pill".
