For all you 'youngsters' out there that always are quick to point out 'history' with respect to price points, leaks, teasers, and reveals.... let me remind you that the Corvette group actually skipped a model year (1983) when they had product / quality issues that needed to be addressed late in the development cycle.

I'm trying not to be the pessimist since I have my name (and money) on the C8 ME waiting list at two high volume dealers, but I hope that we don't set ourselves up for a big disappointment if it's delayed….

That doesn’t look like a key fob for a $170k car

Has these 2 high volume dealers given you any info on the C8 release?

Has there been ANY mule that would indicate a Cadillac version of the ME? I hope we’re not talking badge engineering again?

That's because a $60K base car. Does a C7 ZR1 FOB "look" like a $145K car key?

Good point, but would you expect the highest trim model to be released first?

That has been a staple on other GM remotes recently. You.push the button and pull on the bottom ring to pull off the lower chrome wrap. The bottom has a physical key attached and exposed when pulled apart. It is used to get into the car if the remote battery is dead or car battery is dead.

Also I recently and unfortunately found out that this.unlocks the spare tire lock on the Escalade. Dang screws.

Maybe the two mid engine cars that have different wheels that were spied are a corvette and a cadillac? I wonder which wheels the corvette will use if this is the case.

Corvette?

Cadillac?

I still don't see the pent-up demand in the Cadillac customer base for a high-performance coupe. The XLR was a sales failure, along with the Allante before that in the early 90's. Last decent coupe seller was the Eldorado, much more luxury than sporty. Cadillac buyers want big Escalades. I'm hoping I'm wrong because I want Cadillac to be successful, but history is not in Cadillac's favor on this one.

I was hoping for a nicer looking key FOB. See Tesla's, upper level BMW's and Porsche's Key FOB's. Hopefully it's not the real thing but knowing GM it probably is and they sometimes forget the finer details for their high-market, niche halo car.

You're correct on the base car having identical FOB's as the top line which I wished they wouldn't but your $60K base price seems to be wishful thinking. Time will tell....

$250,000 Aventador key

$30ish thousand dollar Audi key

Both of which are nicer than the cheap *** C6/C7 key. But still, parts bin sharing isn't limited to GM.

Hell, the million dollar Veyron has the same key as a $20k Jetta. It's just got a leather wrap on it.

GM Going back to its roots with the Emblem. Looks like a descendant of the 56 Bel Air hood emblem.

For a car that'll more than likely have keyless entry and push to start... it's going to be in your pocket the majority of the time... who cares, it's a heck of a lot nicer than the early 2000s fobs lol.

Cadillac FOB Could be for international dealer network, Chevrolet FOB is only for North America.

The dealer network hasn't helped either. For years, Corvettes and Camaros were sold by Cadillac dealerships in Europe, says Susan Docherty, GM's European head of Chevy and Cadillac. GM recently fixed that distribution problem and now retails those sports cars through its Chevy network.

It looks like a "test mule" FOB to me, something 3D printed for the captured test fleet. GM's current production FOBs look far more modern and do not have the physically segmented buttons with spaces that can let water in.

They wouldn't have submitted this to the FCC unless it was representative of the final part. They haven't started building CTF vehicles either. CTF cars are regular, albeit early, normal production cars. The cars we're seeing now are IVERs. They're largely hand built and can never, ever be sold.
