Fully grasped the OP's thread. There have been many debuts this week including the new 911 which is more in line with the Corvette but for some reason he chose to bring up the Mustang and ignoring the other cars so simply pointed out the obvious.

And none of them were the top dogs in either C6 or C7 production - that was the ZR1; and with Ford, in the current generation, the GT350 came out in year 2, the new GT500 is the top dog of this generation. Even with the S197 Mustang, the year 2 GT500 was the baby sister (with only 500 hp) to the 2013 which had 662 hp in addition to being almost 200 lbs lighter due to the aluminium engine block.

What I love reading in the C8 forums is people who don’t know, because none of us know any real details, post like they know. I can’t stop laughing!!

There certainly is a lot to laugh at here, but many are accurately reporting what has been reported to them from inside sources who do share various facts regarding the current status of the car. However, GM insiders are obviously not sharing much.

Others are just making **** up using their fertile imaginations. It's fairly easy for a careful reader to figure out which is which.

What do you mean what does it have to do with it?

The point the OP is making is the announcements for other manufacturer new car introductions are coming in for NAIAS, and we have heard nothing from Chevrolet. His point is it doesn't look good for it being revealed there, and I agree.

Seems just an advertising ploy to increase sales. Many company's have done it. Create a frenzy.

Me too.
With the type of news coming out of GM lately, you would think they would like to change the momentum of negativeness they're caught up in.
Oh well, what the hell do I know...

GM has a current commercial welcoming people to be in the GM family if they purchase a vehicle they get the EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT. I first noticed it the week they announced the plant closings. Bad timing

I'm not looking it up but I'm pretty sure the aluminum block started in 2011. The trinity motor was 2 yrs later.

It's no different than the herd that ran out and bought the 2013 C6 427.

. They were certain that this was their last chance to own a real Corvette. We've now seen the folly of
those buyers.

.The C7 was a game changer's game changer. The next Mustang and likely the next Corvette (C8) will both be game changers.

Ive had a C5, C6 and now a C7. It’s a nice car but it isn’t a game changer by any measure.

The C6 was the last real corvette. The C7 is an ugly version of the Ferrari F12.

Everyone is going bonkers about waiting for the new mid engine to come out. Good for Ford that they are showing the new GT500 in Detroit, would love to have GM steal the thunder from them but sure does not seem likely at this point. GMs
approval rating is lower than our President Trumps at the moment, they need to have some good news to offset the layoffs of 14,000 people!
