C8.R video - testing at Sebring

That video made me think of my trip to Monterey Car Week a couple years ago. While there were plenty of V8s, especially at Laguna Seca, and a parade of about 30 full race 60’s Shelby Mustang into the show field at the Quail resort on Friday, it was pretty cool to sit on my hotel deck in Carmel Valley in the evenings and hear all the Euro supercars whining their way around the hills.
At some point we will need to get over the V8 roar of the last century. It’s a new car, a new platform, and may well have a new motor. If not now, it will when it most certainly goes all electric in the not too distant future. For us real dinosaurs, we can still drive our C2 V8s for that inefficient but boisterous rush of yesteryear.

So it sounds better through headphones and not when I'm falling asleep. Heres a few notes I took:
If it's a flat plane, its destroked. And they're not winding it out. Actually I'd wager they're not even close to pushing this thing here.
Taillights are probably very close to production.
Anyone else notice an audio sync issue? I know the camera is far away but the sync seems to change through the video or I'm just fabricating it in my mind....
The almost constant fireballs out the exhaust are bad *** to say the least.

The part where its driving away, the turn out back before the camera cuts, the two times it's back there the sync sounds different between the shots I think. Otherwise I agree but that caught my attention for whatever reason. But again this guy could be a couple thousand feet away at that point too so then it would be about right.

Advanced
Definitely sounds like a flat plane crank V8. Not a v6.

Maybe it's just me but the illuminated portion of the tail lights on this car seem to follow the general shape of the side scoops which I think looks awesome. Nice way for the styling and design cues to be carried throughout the car. I really like that side scoop design and hope that is really close, if not exactly, what the final version will be. Oh....and the sounds....the sounds coming from that car are absolute sex.

If they are testing this now, will they be running it for the Daytona 24? If so, would they show the production car before then? Or would they run the race car and not show the production car yet? And what about LeMans? If they're going to have to run the C7 then, why would they do all of this work on a new car that can't be used for over a year?
Any insights?

Very cool. Nice to have some news of relevance for a change.
I really hope the street version does not have a flat plane crankshaft.

Says the guys who never riding in or driven a Ferrari.
Euro Trash??? Only an closed mind idiot would state such nonsense definitely not true car enthusiasts.
C8R looks and sounds fantastic. With that being said it's going to be a long race year ahead for the C7 platform which is by far the oldest platform running in GTLM class and one of only two still N/A.
I will enjoy the sound of the big 5.5 N/A in the C7R this last race season but I am really excited for Corvette Raving and it future with the C8R.

FIA and IMSA rules regarding homologation are very complicated. In the GTLM class, the car has to be based on a production car, but the rules don't require running the same engine offered in the street version. However, the engine does have to derived from an engine that is offered in a production car built by that particular manufacturer. Thus, the C8R could be homologated with an engine derived from a production Cadillac (e.g. the 4.2 TT Blackwing).
Engine displacement is being decreased so smaller displacement TT engines will soon be the only ones in the series. 2019 will probably be the last year we see larger displacement NA V8s and only in the C7R..

Here's the sound of the 3.9L Ferrari V8 turbo to compare.
