Default Do you ever wonder

Where are all the C7's, 6's, even 5's getting sold or traded for the 8 gonna wind up?They don't get crushed like typical cars so how's this gonna play out? Are there even enough potential buyers to absorb all the used vettes that will be for sale soon? To say nothing of diminishing value . Over seas perhaps?

They will end up like all used sports cars. Exciting cars for somebody that could not afford it years ago and now has a chance to scoop one up and be a new owner.

I always believe a new generation impacts last and previous generation price values unless they fall into a "1%" type category. Rare, extremely low miles, high demand or highly sought after.

I bought my C6 Z06 at the end of the 9 year C6 generation for myself. Not for resale value.

It's a new generation of Corvette, the same thing that happened to SIX generations of Corvettes when the C7 came out is going to happen to SEVEN generations when the C8 comes out. Nothing revolutionary different is going to happen just because it's a ME this time.

I don't know why people ask questions like this in the forum that can be answered by applying some common sense.
You feel it's a stupid question ? Fine. Coulda just moved on instead of hurling insults but thats who you are I guess. However for anyone who like to b.s. about vettes on this forum, the numbers of used vettes grows and grows and grows every year and it's only a matter of time, combined with diminished value, before demand is fulfilled.

The same thing will happen that happens every time a new generation comes out. The earlier generations will decline in value slightly and the people who couldn't afford that generation that wanted them will now be able to afford them and they will buy them. You have to remember that the Corvette is not the only used sports car on the market. When prices drop it brings in new buyers that wouldn't have bought a Corvette before but will if the price is attractive enough. If the price of the C6, for example, dropped down to $5k overnight there would be a lot of people that would choose it over something like a 350z or a miata that wouldn't have at current prices. The older generations can't drop that far before new demand will sustain the new price.

Do You Ever Wonder...relative to your inquiry above...

No.

And no offence intended.

Demand is fulfilled? There are 325 million people in this country, 7 billion people in the world and less than 2 million Corvettes ever made(with far less than that # surviving). Is this supposed to be a serious question?

Sorry, rob62.

As a long time Corvette owner and FE RWD lover, the FE Corvette will continue to appeal to many for it’s styling and performance appeal.

I wonder what will happen when electric and autonomous cars take over? And what if gasoline powered cars are no longer permitted on public roads?

If this scenario is realized, I’ll likely be long gone...yep, selfish of me!

They end up the same they always have. GM will sell the same general ball park of cars they always have during new generations.

Moving the engine to the back is not really all that big a deal.

Between the 2 top selling corvette dealers. They have almost 500 2019 Corvettes in inventory!

Does GM ever publish the total number of Vettes still on the road out of the total ever made? Porsche does that with the 911. Would be interesting to see.
