Thanks Joe, we flat tow this. It takes 5 minutes or less to hook and unhook. It's the Trailhawk version w/ V6 and has excellent off-road capability for exploring. However, bumper-to-bumper Tail of the Dragon runs aren't on my list.

We live on some of the best twisty country roads on the east coast, so I get plenty of that on my daily commute to DC.

what does delaying the showing of the ME have to do with people wanting or not wanting to buy a C7. People who want to buy the ME will not all of a sudden change their mind and buy a C7 just because the showing date has been delayed.

^It's pretty logical, many people who go to Chevy dealers probably have no idea there's a ME on the way, then if they do you have some dealers feeding them some BS about it's going to cost 2-3 times the price of the C7 hoping they'll buy it instead of waiting for next gen.

There's a time to reveal pieces of information to build hype as well, if GM knows the ME won't be ready for over a year they don't want to hype it up now as it'll feel like old news once it is released.

Maybe the Lambo driver doesn't want the driveline repair bill???
Launch control may be standard on a Gallardo, but it ain't FREE....

I don't know much about the Lamborghini AWD system.
Maybe it's *****...I just don't know.

In spite of Jeep having the best AWD system in the world (or one of), there is still NO WAY in he!! a Lambo should EVER lose to something as heavy as a GC.
Hellcat motor or not, the Jeep weighs around 5500 lbs., and that's a lot.

Not necessarily. I have been waiting for the ME Corvette since 1973 when it was first supposed to be released with a Wankel engine.

I am getting really tired of all of this BS. Besides, it is beginning to look like the C8 will not be very attractive unless you wait a year or two for the Grand Sport version. My guess is that the Grand Sport will have a more aerodynamic front end that will have less luggage carrying ability, but will look much better.

The C7 is looking better and better to me every day!

You can hear the Lambo driver floor it (and bog the car) when the light goes green. He was NOT trying to win in any shape form or fashion. I'm curious why he's even doing this....dragstrips are not the normal venue for Lamborghinis.
The AWD system is fine on them, but launch control starts DO wear stuff out (or break stuff possibly) and let's face it, Lamborghini repair bills aren't for the faint of heart.

Hmm, there is speculation about the price ranging from ~$70,000 to ~$170,000 but you've carried it further to the "shape of the Grand Sport and luggage space!"

Now, I will probably wait for the Grand Sport since the 305 section width rear tires (seen on the C8s in Germany) seam anemic as did the 285 section width were for my 2014 Z51! Heck that was the same width rear tire as my C6 Z51 with more power and particularly the increased low end torque with the variable cam timing. Proved to be traction limited. My tubbed ProStreet Rod with 420 section width rear tires would laugh when I pulled into the garage- now with the 345 section width Grand Sport rear tires it only chuckles!

Yep, expect the Grand Sport will have some extra aero "stuff" and wider tires! Sure hope they don't just add Spats to cover!

I believe in "Form Follows Function" so if as expected with the low polar moment of inertia "it performs," it will look fine to me! Zora knew ME was where it belonged when he came to the country as did Dr. Porsche in the 1930's where the German F1 cars had their engines!

As I walked into my Man Cave/Office, was reminded a ME can look great in addition to performing! Of my ~50 car collection, albeit small in size, many are ME's. In fact the car I think is one of the best looking ever, the Ferrari 330 P3/4 is one where in addition to having several "cars" there is an original water color and a more impressionist painting I got at Laguna Seca after seeing a P4 in person at the vintage races. I also have an original James Allington Cutaway of a P4 (have Allington's cutaway of a Chaparral 2F as well as other ME Hall cars and photo's that also look great.)

Even my Porsche 911 GT1 from the mid 1990's that Porsche was smart enough to make as a ME NOT rear engine looks good in its stretched length! The Auto Union 1938 open wheel ME supercharged V12 is also good looking for a race car at the time in addition to being very fast.

I've had some time around them. Very pretty cars

No, they are not.
But YouTube is filled with videos of yahoos running their Exotics at strips.

True, definitely NOT a car to keep past warranty.

My statement is based on the premise that the high front end design that we have seen so far will perform poorly from a high speed aerodynamic standpoint (too much lift). If correct, higher performing versions of the C8 (i.e. those with a higher top speed) will require a front end that generates more down-force. For reference, look at the C8.R.

Anything is possible. My statement about "aero stuff" refers to the possibility of using speed sensitive movable front and rear aero pieces that GM recently patented .

We'll see what if any of this speculation comes to pass!

Was just reading an article that theorized the electrical delay may be related to a new patent for electric open/close doors. The picture in the patent seems to be a C7. No idea why electric doors would be a benefit for a sports car, though the patent refers to the doors adding torque if they sense a high wind pulling the door open fast so perhaps some sort of protection system?

But...

Both the C3 and C4 were delayed by a full model year to correct problems, but initially they both turned out to be pretty poor cars anyway. It took a couple years of production to iron out the kinks.
Perhaps, GM is going to get it right this time. Perhaps.
I remember clearly that the C4 when it came out was rated by some of the car magazines as the best handling car in the world. History doesn’t reflect “pretty poor” in my take on the C4 looking back. But the electronic dash was a dumb idea which did go by the wayside later if that is what you are getting at, then I agree. As cool as I thought the C4 was, I would not buy one specifically because of that dash set up.

Idaho-
Actually, I was thinking of the harsh ride and misc reliability problems that seemed to crop up.
The handling was indeed world class. I have driven but not owned C4's, I could still be happy in a 1996.
