NOT a GM announcement. The source is GM Authority, a website that is not owned, operated, supported, or otherwise condoned by General Motors, its brands, subsidiaries, or partners. Says so right in the "About Us" link on the GM Authority website.

There were 2 sites that GM had picked. The first was the New York Auto Show. The other was the Corvette Museum. Now that the electrical issues have come up it looks like the New York Auto Show is a no go. So it looks like the unveiling will be at the Corvette Museum some time in late May.

The Corvette Museum has the annual Bash in April but they are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Corvette Museum in August. This event will be huge. You would think GM would unveil the C8 to coincide with this event if they truly want to unveil at NCM.

Nothing like a big debut of the first mid engine Corvette in history, to have it at NCM. I think the guy from the Bowling Green newspaper could be there to cover it, to really get the word out! I know if I were in GM marketing, and wanted to debut a new car to the world, Bowling Green sure would be on my short list!

Tell you what Mr. Inside info. Let's set up an escrow account, $100k each. If ONE of your 100% guarantees fails to transpire I get the cash and vica versa. I'm sure we have a few folks here on the form that would mediate.

This entire C8 forum is just supposition about the car, it’s possible versions, it’s price and the launch. It was fun to follow for a while, but now it has evolved into a lot of silly rumor mongering, pure BS and downright vitriol stupidity among people whose neighbor’s sister-in-law, dated a guy who used to work for a supplier, that produced a part based on a drawing from a patent application, that a subsidiary of GM submitted six years ago, before that subsidiary was closed by GM, and a now unemployed manager of that subsidiary interviewed for a sales job at a Chevrolet dealership and got the job based on his first hand knowledge of every detail of the C8 Corvette.
GM will at some point, probably sooner than later, make an announcement and the C8 Corvette will be unveiled. It could be at the museum, the Indy 500, or maybe more appropriately, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Island. Who knows? GM knows! And, eventually GM will directly announce it. Until then... take a freakin pill and chill out!
