Why no “it has Camaro taillights” threads this time around?
So before release of (and even after release) of the C7 ALL we heard was complaining on top of complaining about the Vette having “Camaro Taillights” but yet very little if at all mention of it on this new C8 .... yet I think the taillights will be nearly identical to the Camaros pre ‘18 facelift. Which makes since as im sure he design language of the mid engine car has been around for several years now. I’m definitely not saying this is bad nor do I think it was bad on the C7 to bring the taillights into the modern century!

Five years of the c7 in production and on the streets and everyone knows the shape of corvette taillights.
change is hard for some people.

That’s because the C8 is compromised of nothing but left over Camaro parts. It’s obvious in that photo that the rear ends are exactly alike. Look where the exhaust exit points. Why would someone buy a C8 for 170k when you could get the Camaro, the original, for a fraction of the cost.

I am also waiting for the complaints about the lack of pop up headlights.

I am disappointed that the rear license plate area shares that hexagon-ish shape from the Malibu

People are used to the c7s ugly butt by now.
Nobody has really seen the c8 so there’s no consensus yet. From some of the mule photos I can tell it won’t be as pretty as a 458 so I’m already prepared for a GM-styling letdown (ugly rump included) when the final surfaces are revealed.

Round lights never age. Round is right. Round is natural. Round lights appeals to our sexual instincts. Design is sexual. The adverse reaction to the rear of a C7 is normal human behaviour. If you don't prefer round lights, you have severe emotional problems because you are not normal. You are confused and need help. If you don't like round lights, you should question your masculinity.

The C7 still has Camaro taillights. These are a little more distinctive and move more into a Mercedes design. It also helps that the whole car is a departure, it forces you to see the whole more rather than individual parts.

Anybody still bitching that the C3 Corvette has the same tail lights as the gen II Camaro?

EH, they don't look like an afterthought this time around at least. I still have a hard time at night on the highway telling the *** apart until I'm on top of them. never bothered me it was always more of a "well that's it? They hyped up that?" These at least seem to fit the car design elements (even though a good chunk of the light is still covered. The electrical problems were probably swapping in production parts on the mules. Not a lie, it does deal with electrical lol)

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
I was just behind what I thought were 2 C7s until I got up close & one was a Camaro. Anyone who says the C7 & apparently C8 rear/tail lights are not Camaro inspired are dilusional. either GM has the best camo team on the planet or that rear end is ugly as sin - I’m going with the latter.

C3 was out in ‘68 and gen2 ‘maro followed in ‘70. -Always thought the round gen2 Camaro tailights were the best of the breed. Glad they copied the Corvette.
The c7 copied fug.
