C8 ring time game
Now this is a game. You have to guess the C8's Nurburgring times. You can submit several times for all the C8 variants, or just one time for whatever the model you like to guess. Whoever gets their submitted times equal to the real car's times wins. If not equal, then the nearest time to the real time wins. There can be several winners. And there will be a prize for every winner.
Use hundredth of a second for more accurate times, as it will be helpful when choosing the winners.
e.g.- 6:47.25
Let the games begin!

For the Z51(or Base is there is no Z51), I’m gonna say 7:15.33
There’s no telling what the rest of the Corvette models will even be; they could scrap Z06 and ZR1 or even Z51 altogether.

7:13 entry car
The higher performing cars will break 7:00 but not the base.
Hopefully someone remembers to check this thread a year from now when we "might" have a 'Ring time.

I thought official Ring times were not allowed.

Come on folks, lighten up, it's just for fun. Heck, we may never even get an official ring time, and if a manufacturer wants to run for an official time it can be done...... for $$$$$s! Lol.

A lot of unrealistic expectations.
C8 isn't doing those times with these blank standard rotors. Cars anywhere near 7 mins are doing it with carbon ceramics. C7 GS needed carbon ceramics to break 7:30 barrier.

For the base level car, I think a 7:15 would be an achievable target. The C7Z and the C8 base should align or close to align, which has always been the approach from gen to gen, though the incoming base is always slightly less potent than the outgoing Z. The Stingray Z51 (C7) was running low 7:30's, so if the base mid engine car can knock off 15s that's a solid achievement. C7Z was known to be in the 7:11-7:13 range, possibly 7:10's...so I say the mid is slightly off that pace, mostly on the basis of power, but gaining a lot of ground due to the better polar moment of inertia...so, I say 7:15

Hopefully better than 7:06 as that is what the front engine AMG GT R Pro did with only 577 HP and RWD only. When AMG releases the front engine GT R Pro Black Series, then the mid engine Corvette had better be on it's best behavior..

No times.

I agree but I can't believe those are production brakes... if the C8 had those brakes it would be slower than a C7 GS for sure and GM won't release a C8 that does not outperform the C7. It will be 10 seconds faster than a C7 GS... has to be. Just like the C7 Z51 was close to a C6 Z06... the C8 base will be C7 Z06 performance.

Not the base car... no way. That will be the Z06 variant time. You expectations are too high for the entry car (assuming you are referring to the entry car).

Lol some of you think that the C8 can’t beat the C7 GS because of its brakes... and to say that it should outdo the AMG GT R is absurd.
The car has 4-piston brakes all around, Michelin PS4 tires, MRC suspension, and a 500-525hp engine. This isn’t a high-grip or high-power car; it’s a grand touring car. In comparison, the AMG GT R is a monster on paper. It has 6-piston/4-Piston Brakes with massive carbon ceramic rotors, Pilots Sport Cup 2 tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers(like the GT, ZL1 1LE, and a few Formula 1 cars), and its driver probably has more Nurburgring experience than anyone in GM’s stable.
The ZL1 1LE ran a 7:14-7:16 with R-compound tires, big brakes, DSSV dampers(and high camber adjustability), aggressive aero and cooling, and a 650hp LT4. Of course, the ZL1 1LE comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual. I’d imagine that the ZL1 1LE could have done a 7:05 with a 10-speed and Mercedes’ Driver
