C8 will be at NAIAS 2019

I think a bunch of people need glasses. Where's that touch pad? Where's the vent at the top of the console? Everything is jumbled around other than the buttons at the right side of the console and the wrap-around infotainment screen (the contents of which have been intentionally blurred out).

I think that is how it goes if I remember correctly.

Refresh my memory - has GM always played the silent treatment until the last minute then did a surprise reveal in public with all info? or have they made an announcement before just giving a date when...?

For comparison Chevrolet sold 2036023 vehicles in 2018, Porsche is a long way from catching up.

Unmodified C8 of the Year 2021 Finalist
2018 C7 of Year Finalist
Here’s a thought
What if instead of the actual C8 ME being revealed this Monday night they show the first tease video in a series created in similar fashion as was with the C7. A disappointment for many of us but at least we’d have something to chew on and even enthusiastically debate here on CF. HOWEVER, please, please, please let me be wrong and the C8 is actually there, if anything to give Zerv02 an “I told you so”.

I can't even remember anything beyond 10 mins. That's an excellent point though, photographic memory is rare.

With the NAIAS press preview days beginning tomorrow, does anyone have any feedback from contractors or locals that helped setup the show on how the Chevrolet section is looking? If all of the vehicles are already at their stations since Chevrolet said 'no reveal' then that would solidify the C8 question in my opinion. However, if there is an empty turntable or heavily blocked off section - then maybe there is a chance!!

This "stealth" release is the reason most are questioning it (me included).
It makes NO sense.
I am happy to be wrong, we'll see tomorrow.

Here are Porsche's 2017 sales
911----------------------32,197
Boxster/Cayman-----25,114
Cayenne---------------63,913
Macan-----------------97,202
Panamera------------37,605
As you can clearly see, Porsche sold 57,311 sports cars in 2017, not around 14,000.
Porsche, like GM sells vehicles worldwide, not just in the US.
Porsche sells a higher percentage of sports cars than GM.

I don't have the numbers for 2018, but they are higher than in 2017.

GM does NOT market its US vehicles worldwide. It is not a strategic element of their business model. They sold their EU divisions (Opel and Vauxhall) to Peugeot about 5 years ago. They have a big presence in China, but that presence is not GM, per se. They are joint ventures with Chinese companies selling completely different products, and GM is actually not even the majority partner.
GM does NOT sell more than a handful of their US cars beyond N. America, and they have a minimal dealer presence beyond N. America to market and support those products. They don't even try. Other than China, they're not putting much effort into international sales of passenger vehicles.
You keep publishing worldwide Porsche sales numbers, but it's a misleading example. Porsche sells basically the same models of all their vehicles worldwide, and they have developed a massive network to support those sales. That doesn't happen overnight, and GM has no comparable international infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Porsche sold 15K sportscars in the US in 2018. GM sold many more C7s, and if you include the hot Camaros and Cadillacs, they crushed Porsche in the US in "sporty" car sales.
