Not sure the Nascar crowd is into mid engine Vette or any other sports car.

Complete different crowd from the 24 hour and the Daytona 500 crowd.

I attend the 24 every year. I was hoping maybe to see the C8R do a couple laps still wrapped in camo I am sure.

hahaha boy, do I feel stupid... ive always 1/4 everything ive had... have lived in that little bubble...hahahh

IF they were, they would buy one...instead of their pickup trucks.

Totally unlike GM who owns 100% of Chevrolet.

If you guys are gonna get that detailed about it, it's actually Porsche SE that controls it all. Which is the actual Porsche family. They own just over 50% of the shares of Volkswagen AG which controls Volkswagen, Porsche, Lambo, Audi, Bentley, etc. I don't know if the Porsche family actually is involved in any of the day to day operations but I imagine if they wanted to influence something in a certain way they definitely could. However I think it's all irrelevant in regards to the C8, and I hope there is some kind of reveal on the 14th.

I’m giving Zerv the benefit of the doubt, because surely he/she can’t come back from this if it doesn’t happen.

Zerv, just to be clear, you’re talking about the official unveiling of the C8, correct?

You’d be surprised by how many ZL1s, Hellcats, and other relatively expensive cars show up in parking lots on race day in Daytona. And even if they don’t want a Corvette, the Corvette will make them more interested in getting a Chevy.

just because the young men chose the name GM authority for their site soesnt actually mean they have any inside information or are authorized for inside information...

just a nice name that competes with what used to be a number one website...GMinsidenews...

that site also has no inside news either...

just a title of a website and forum...

now for the most part with a forum over run by trolls who spend their time insulting gm products and applauding others...

thats why forums in general are taking traffic dives...

i happen to like the guys over at gm authority...and wish them well. I have no idea if their rumor which went viral with regards to the c8 electrical issue is true or not..

i happen to think its bull...

gm would never let out a news piece on an electrical issue for a new 48 volt electrical system...that would be suicide for the upcoming technology in the marketplace...IMO

this electrical issue anonymous news story is smoke and mirrors ...

id guess and its just a guess...a planned response to assist in moving the 5 and a half month unsold inventory of wonderful c7s,.....(8000 reported units)

or this news piece could just be an attention grab for GM authority which seems to be the way news organizations run these days...

no verifiable facts...just news stories...

works for the NY times...why not car news sites?

no offense intended to car news sites with that analogy..

One thing is certain. Everyone wants to see the final version of the car sooner rather than later. Would be pretty cool if they did show it at NAIAS this month.

I have to say the only thing making this plausible is the report of C7 sales declining in the 4th quarter.

https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2019...-quarter-2018/

I could see GM trying to rush getting the C8 out there asap and revealing it now even with a delay. Plus it is weird that gm only has one announcement scheduled for NAIS. However, looking at the schedule, there is a "Pending Industry Announcement" on January 15th at 8:30am and the Cadillac announcement is on the 13th. But the 14th looks pretty full up till 5pm. Announcing it during another brands time is a jerk move. So look to either at night, or maybe the morning of the 15th.

But I see nothing in the rule books about needing to announce the announcement months ahead of time.

And if Zerv02 is wrong......

I frequent the NASCAR race in Vegas since I live in Idaho and there are a lot of Vettes in the parking lot, not surprisingly. With attendance numbers at the 500 significantly over 100k, pretty sure a lot of vette lovers in attendance since NASCAR fans are usually intensely brand loyal.

I have 3 Corvettes and my daily driver is not a pickup truck. I enjoy going to the NASCAR races(more fun as I have a HOT Pass that allows me into the garage and pits during the race). At Talladega a coup[le of years ago, there was a C5 coupe in the parking lot with a small utility trailer. The C5 owner used the trailer to carry a electric wheelchair so his friend could also enjoy the races in person.

Checkout the RV parking area(not the NASCAR drivers motorhomes) at a race. I see some very expensive motorhomes owned by NASCAR fans.

I have also gone to the NASCAR races with friends that own Corvettes, Hellcats, and even a Prius. Plus owning pickups.

I would not be the least bit surprised IF this whole thread (and numerous posts especially from a few FREQUENT posters in this forum) have all just been another troll thread to stir the pot.

Zerv02 is correct. I was also told yesterday that this car would debut in Detroit. So yeah, it will be there. Oh, and the AWD for the top dog.

Btw, saw the interior. Looks really good.

Zerv02 and PCMIII. Two trolls. One will lie and the other will swear to it.
