Geez, here we go again. Another "insider information" thread.
We recently learned that there is an electrical problem with the ME car resulting in a 6 month delay. So now we have some prediction of a premature announcement of the ME, Why?? Is it because sales of the C7 aren't low enough? Maybe GM wants to mimic Nissan and announce a new high performance sports car before it's ready so it can fall on it's face? Maybe Mary Barra wants a golden parachute so she's permitting a completely stupid major move to occur?
Take your pick.

We actually didn't "learn" anything. The electrical problem has not been confirmed at all by anyone at GM and may well be nothing more substantial than the BS statement by the OP of this thread.

  1. Disappear from the forum altogether
  2. Remain on the forum with yet another new username
  3. Try to explain away why it didn't happen
  4. Admit he was wrong on that prediction, yet maintain his other 'observations' are valid
Perhaps this should be turned into a poll...

Based on the interior leak, we may need to add a 5th option.

"Graciously accept apologies or at least stunned silence from his detractors"

If that leaked interior didn't look like it was a little rough from use, I'd think there was a chance that it was the NAIAS press car.

How great would it be if Mark Reuss got on stage at the 1/14 Cadillac press conference and said "I'd like to start with a confession, and an apology. We're not here to talk about Cadillac. But I think you'll all forgive me in a few minutes..."

But the Cadillac press conference is on the 13th, at 6:00pm EST.

https://naias.com/press/press-conference-schedule/

Either way, I just hope it's at NAIAS on the 14th while I'm there.

Well this is interesting. Chevrolet just emailed me two tickets to a "Chevrolet VIP Early Access Event" at the Boston New England International Auto Show on January 19 at 9 AM. If the C8 is unveiled on JAN 14, then I'm guessing it's likely the VIP Early Access Event in Boston on JAN 19 will include the C8.

Take your pick.
It was Acura (NSX), not Nissan.
And we didn't "learn" there was an electrical problem, GMAuthority (who usually uses CorvetteForum for info) reported the electrical problem, NO ONE with actual KNOWLEDGE confirmed it. And we're seeing mules running around...
