I would expect the high horsepower C8 to be very fast...10.00 or less elapsed time quarter mile, with quarter mile trap speed very near 145 mph, top speed very near 220 mph unless electronically limited, and a new Lightning Lap Record Holder...
Chevrolet knows how to make a performer...This new Mid-Engine Car should be very special...

I'm just curious as to how everyone imagines this "E-Ray" car to actually work out. Where will the battery reside? In the front crash box area where the frunk resides? That's a great way to self immolate in a crash. The "tunnel" in the center of the passenger cell? It could possibly work, depends on just how much room is in there...and what is in there in the non "E-Ray" models. I'm guessing the ideal motor package would be hub mounted motors, independent from one another for true thrust vectoring. The weight of the "E-Ray" will be considerably more than a non-electrified C8. For $200k GM would need to go full carbon fiber passenger cell, and body panels to justify the cost. Alfa Romeo made a CF chassis, mid engine car that started at $60k so it is not out of the realm of reason to expect it on a $200k car, even with fancy electric motors and a couple turbos slapped onto a V8.
Honestly, I really think that the top of the line C8 should be similar to the outgoing Dodge Viper ACR. Go full track superstar, have adjustable suspension, option deletes, semi-slick track tires, fully adjustable aero, and take it a step further and introduce an actual "Challenge" cup similar to what Ferrari and Lamborghini do, and offer actual spec racecars.
