Those pics look legitimate. Solid rumors or a NA 600bhp version with 9,000 rpm redline. If there is a God, they will eventually do that version with a stick. And it there is a Super God, it will be a gated shifter. I can dream.

Why does everyone want a manual when literally every single aspect of a dual clutch or advanced automatic design is better? I just dont understand. Perhaps you have had bad experiences with poorly designed auto/dct and are basing it off of that?

For me, a manual increases my driver engagement/involvement significantly.

They FAR are more fun to drive than autos for me.

My wife has had two modern Audi’s with DCT and I did not enjoy driving them any more than an old school standard automatic.

It's the difference between performance and "fun". Fun is personal, and not quantifiable. It is different for all of us. Me personally, the only automatic I've owned has been the vehicles for towing our boat. That said, I'd be interested in trying out a DCT, but it has to still be fun!

Have a good one,
Mike

Because even the best DCTs are still slightly less enjoyable than a manual, regardless of how much faster or smoother it is. Most DCTs make you feel removed from the driving experience. Take the GTR - utterly boring to drive despite how fast it is. Just my opinion of course.

Agree, I've owned DCTs (BMW and PDK) and the best paddle-shifting TC autos (ZF8), and given my preference they just weren't nearly as much "fun" to drive as the M7 in my C7. It's probably the #1 reason, I'd likely not purchase a C8, but my wife is interested because she prefers automatics.

Well to me the reason I got a manual Z06 is because it's not a DD and I enjoy a manual much more. It's not about the best track times for me. It's about fun. A MT is allot of fun on a car I take out on weekends and nice days. If it was about quarter mile times or getting the best lap times then I get it. Not in my case and I suspect in most people's cases.

I disagree. The one take style of this video is well done. It would look ridiculous with hard cuts all over.
