Hmm, I have that "Split Window" logo as part of the Grand Sport dash emblem! (Albeit turned 90 degrees.)

Does that mean my GS will turn into a C8 at the stoke of midnight, whenever?

The roof is on top and the rear window is on the back.

Please, NO! Corvette styling needs less gimmicks, not more.

OMG, now we're talking about "split window" styling in a dedicated thread on the ME. Just wow . . .

Do you have a problem with that? Do you ever read the first post or the entire thread before you blather on? You seem to reduce yourself to this habit where ever you post.

This post from Mr. Corvette Blogger Keith Cornett himself.

Great post Skank! I did a search on Ed Welburn regarding those comments and here is what he said back in 2009 in regards to the Corvette Stingray Concept and the C7 Corvette:

https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2009...n-C7-Corvette/

GM’s VP of Global Design Ed Welburn told Inside Line that the design of the new C7 Corvette will go retro much like the new Camaro and a prominent design feature will be the return of the split rear window. The next generation Corvette is expected to be launched in 2012 as a 2013 model.

The original split window appeared on the 1963 Corvette Coupe, but Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov hated the feature due to its limited visibility and in 1964 it was removed. Welburn addresses the visibility issue by saying “With the back-up cameras and blind-spot detection systems that we have these days, the visibility issue is much less of a problem.”

The Corvette Stingray Concept that appeared in the latest Transformers movie also has a split rear window. “That car is not the next Corvette.” says Welburn, “But the split-window is something that I expect for the next Corvette.”

I like the idea, maybe as a removable option.

[QUOTE=Bikerjulio;
The center icon is clearly for the rear hatch. The right is possibly for the roof, and what we see is a convertible.[/QUOTE]

i disagree my friend. I think the center button is to raise the front. To get in and out of steep driveways...the one on the left must be to lower it back down.

Yes. I messed up. I see the front left wheel and the car moving to the left about to hit a curb.

The picture shows the Chiron. The light blue and dark blue color scheme was the Chiron launch color. The Chiron Sport was launched in a red and black theme, with a rear plate that says "Chiron Sport". Kindly educate yourself so I do not have to.

I was told it was off their website. Apologies to you. But your centerline rib comment doesn't make sense to the conversation.

I was correcting someone that thought it was a split window. There is no window, it is open with a center "spine".

Have you seen one in person?

The spine running down the car is a Bugatti nod to their heritage with at least a couple of 1930's coupes featuring a spine running to the rear with a split window. It's much more of a Bugatti "thing" than a Corvette thing.

Yes, of course.

Not my picture (found it online), but you can see that it is open. There is no window that the spine runs on top of or through. It is open air.

Exactly. The one of the Chiron runs from the front of the car at the horseshoe grill, up over the roof, (carries on in the interior as well), runs down the center of the engine bay floating in the air, and ends on the active wing.

I'm a class host at the Pebble Beach Concour D'Elegance and I have talked to the Bugatti people. In fact they world revealed the Divo at the Quail last year and then to the PBCD. I also got to meet Horacio Pagani about 5 years ago and he gave us a tour of his latest Huayra. He explained his centerline concept for the 45 degree layup procedure and it was really the first boutique manufacturer to centerline his carbon fiber at that scale.

This photo of the new "Sky View" option (adds the two pieces of glass in the roof so that you can see through it) shows the centerline spine I was talking about quite well.
