Well, I suppose it could be "unveiled" again at the Bash if the actual unveiling happens earlier in April in NYC. That was leaked last October, but I think even NYC is in doubt now. It clearly won't be shown to the public for the first time at an event that only appeals to a tiny fraction of the auto enthusiast world.

So if you post it twice does that make it more true?

I say unlikely. Very little media coverage at any Corvette Bash.

I agree. I'm trying to think of something: if it's not the April Bash for Corvette-types only, and maybe not Detroit (we'll know tomorrow), and with the supposed "electrical" delay (which could be head-fake) maybe not NYC, where could it be?

What is the best place to have a 40+ year-old,dream-come-true Corvette, become reality and be displayed for the first time? A world-class audience that is big, and will be bigger from media types?

My vote is for something like SEMA or whatever it's called now. But that's in November. Which might tie in with the "electrical delay," if it's real. But there's got to be other places, shows, events, etc. right?

The NCM is the least likely initial reveal location due to lack of automotive press attendance. I'm personally leaning toward a reveal even later in the year AFTER the NYAS and Bash. Time will tell!

GM works with the press everyday. If GM told the press that the C8 was to be unveiled at the NCM on a certain day, and that information was embargoed, then the press would be in Bowling Green when the C8 is released to cover it. They would also have a fist full of "facts" and photos about the car months in advance.

The auto mags get embargoed press releases months before they publish them.

Of course press would come, but not at the volume that attends the larger auto shows.

You honestly think the biggest engineering challenge GM has ever undertaken is going to be unveiled in Bowling Green?

I was going to say that I hope someone blocked out some hotel rooms for the press (if the reveal is during the Bash). But I see there are good rooms available so I guess not many are expecting it to happen there.

Makes no sense! They're developing an all new world class car, no way the first reveal be in Kentucky LOL.

It is actually the least likely reveal because if the car isn't ready for the NYIAS, which is the biggest auto show in the USA and just 10 days before the BASH (which is nothing outside of the Corvette world), it is a virtual certainty it won't be ready before June.
After the NYIAS, the next big show is in LA on November 22nd. SEMA is only 2 weeks earlier, so for the same reason as the BASH, SEMA makes no sense.
I am still holding out hope for NYIAS on April 17, 2019!

Anyone think Geneva? Why not Geneva - if your going to build a mid-engine car - go to the show with the other ones and steal their thunder?
