GM HAS to let Cadillac win a little sometimes. GM, IMHO, had to let the spotlight show on the new Cadillac EV SUV. GM isn't going to let the Cadillac sink without a fight, so they held off showing the Corvette.
Last year Cadillac sold 356,467 vehicles worldwide. That is 10 times the amount normally sold by the Corvette. GM isn't going to sacrifice Cadillac just so the Corvette can have the spotlight at the auto show.
GM's bottom line is helped more by selling 360K Cadillacs vs selling 36k Corvettes.
GM can now show the new Corvette at a different venue, get all the spot light, and not take away from Cadillac's new EV SUV.

< completely. That G70 turned my eye a little bit once I started doing some research. I'll probably get a new daily driver in a couple of years and will consider this model line. They even have a little "sporty" version in a manual.

We have the G80 Sport and love that car!! The only negative we have on it is it doesn't have a good sound to it's exhaust and it only has 1 full size cup holder upfront. We looked at cars for months before settling on that one. The only thing we thought about getting rather than that was the e63s AMG which was amazing but at more than double the cost hard to justify for my wife's daily.

The Supra looks to be the biggest embarrassment in Toyota history. How can you possibly think this thing is a hit, when you debuted the FT-1 Concept. How can you possibly fail that bad at something? And as for GM not releasing something for Corvette, thats also not good. You have the release of the GT500, there, and GM has nothing. You could have easily plugged a Prototype into the show, ala, FT-1, and at least given GM a platform for the show. The FT-1 came out years before the Supra. Get with it, GM!!

The Corvette team needed more time to fit the batteries under the floor and replace the LS engine with an electric motor.
