Why not Geneva?
I haven’t seen any posts on a possible Geneva reveal? That show is in March and tends to taylor more towards the super car/ high end market. Isn’t that exactly what Chevrolet is trying to broaden into with going mid engine??? They did the ZR1 reveal over seas. And if I remember right they revealed the C7 Grand Sport there also?

Needs to be in the US. This may be the best and most important Corvette since the C1. Plus, it would hardly receive any attention at Geneva with the tons of exotic cars. Koenigsegg is unveiling their new Agera RS replacement there, and I'm sure there are other companies with big reveals planned too. A fancy Chevy is going to be in the corner with hardly any attention when you have companies like Koenigsegg trying to break 300 mph. And it's very likely that they will do it with this new model. The Agera RS went 284 I believe. The new car is supposed to be more aerodynamic, more powerful and more lightweight than the Agera RS, which is already an insane car. It would just be a really bad idea.

You have the right idea. The car won’t get the most attention of all of the cars at Geneva. That’s why they should and almost definitely will reveal it in New York. There’s nothing debuting in New York that could top the C8. No Audi, no Mercedes, no Porsche, not even a Ferrari will be there that can top it. The only thing that could possible spoil a New York debut is a surprise appearance by a new Tesla model, and that’s unlikely considering that they haven’t begun Roadster production and a few Model 3 trims also aren’t out yet.

C4 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Please correct me if I am wrong ...... but hasen't every "first year" of a new Corvette generation had a US reveal? Subsequent models within the gen debut in other places but I believe that the first year has always had a US reveal.

doing it at an American show is like a big fish in a small pond. Doing it at Geneva is like throwing that fish in the ocean. Probably wouldn't have the same "impact."

I don't see any reason why it should be revealed at any car show. This is 2019. We have the internet. They could give us much more information, images, and videos than a few journalists at a car show ever could. Reveal it at a road course track, and give us video of it going around the track, so we can see and hear it. Give us in depth presentations on how it was designed.

The "official" press introduction was Geneva in 90 iirc. All the initial press releases of the ZR-1 were based around 40 or so running around Europe's back roads. You know, because why not? But that was an already established vehicle that just received an upgrade.

In New York, April...2020 as a 2021 Model Year...that is the most likely reveal.

I believe so. The only real overseas debut I recall is the original ZR-1. But not a first year really. It did however highlight the refresh for the rest of the line aside from the wide body.

My bad on that, I usually talk about the C4 as the first one because a lot of people don't know that there was a ZR1 (and ZR2) in the early 70s. I actually forget from time to time as well lol.
