C8 Design was done by 2016
An interesting article in today's Wall Street Journal was about Ed Welburn, the retired head of global design at GM.
He bought a 57 Corvette from Reggie Jackson in 2016, the same year he retired. It was Silver with a red interior, one of 65 made that year. He also has a 2016 Zo6 in silver and red. He said " the two cars make great stablemates. One of the last cars I worked on was the next generation Corvette, which is not out yet. I can't wait to get that car- silver with a red interior."
So basically the C8 design was done in 2016, so for all you folks that are wanting changes in what you see or think you see in the camouflaged C8's, Forgetaboutit …..the ship sailed 3 years ago.

Its crazy how far ahead the auto companies are working on the next projects. I am sure that Tadge and the team have been done with this for sometime, the next person in charge is already working on what will be on the streets in 2022!

The C7 design was complete by mid to late 2011. 2016 is about right for the C8 given what we've seen in testing.

It was to some extent. Many of the design cues of the prototype/concept were incorporated into the C7. If you look at the rear ends of the prototype/concept and C7 they are very similar (i.e. "tear drop" tail lights, 4 exhaust pipes in the middle). The side view as well. Obviously it is not exact but you can definitely see the hints in there
