I'm not offended. Curious how you came to that conclusion. Plus, this is the wrong section anyways.

Discussed in another thread but this is a relevant topic. If there really is a special edition coming out next week, then production for tthe C7 will not end in March as some have thought. That means the C8 likely won't be debuted anytime soon.

The fact that GM even bothers to put out anothet C7 version should tell us that. The SE is to boost C7 sales & debuting the C8 shortly after will not help.

Dealers received notice that ZR1 production only would end in March.....not the entire C7 lineup.

When/where did GM state that this 'special Edition' is the last of the C7 production?

Autoblog is reporting that it's "likely", I don't know that GM has said that. It'll be interesting to see if they do next week.

I remember not to long ago when Hot Rod magazine said the C7 would "likely" have a 5.5L engine. How did that work out?

Plenty of other examples where bogus information has been presented as "likely" and never panned out.

I hadn't heard this, but if that's the case it'll mean a run of about 2K cars a year, more or less, and this in the intro year when excitement should have been at peak. That's more evidence that the market for a $130K+ Corvette just isn't very large. It's not just Corvette as sales for any sports car at that price level and above is quite small.

I believe that VIN 1700 will come off the assembly line next week.

On December 11, 2017 dealers who wer going to receive a one or more ZR1 allocation were told in that GM document that “ZR1 production is March 2018 through approximately March 2019.”

Might GM have changed its mind since over a year ago when that notice went out? We know that so much has changed in GM’s Corvette world since then, and this could be, with some discussion about a changing schedule for the ME, might ZR1 production now be further extended? Inquiring minds are curious, want to know — especially as every one of the top forum dealers who, even with their highest ZR1 allocations, still have more customers on their “I want a ZR1 list” than they currently were told their ZR1 allocations will be through March will be.

The ZR1 is generating huge profits for Corvette and GM. Why kill the golden goose, especially when the rest of the C7 lineup is stagnating? The ME is nowhere in sight, so stealing its thunder is not a problem. ZR1 is the only Corvette on the market that is causing excitement and good publicity for Corvette. Also, it runs circles around the new 911 so let the head-to-head comparisons run!

Some dealers have ZR1s in stock. Perhaps supply has caught up with demand.

Just doing my part to help reduce clutter on the forum. Not a difficult task to check the forum to see if something has already been posted. Also not a difficult task to post in the right section, yet people have a problem doing that too.

So, what are the rules? How do I know if it's the right section? If it's the last C7, does that not relate to the upcoming C8?

That part was not pertaining to you. It was directed towards the many that post in the wrong section. For example, last week a person posted in the C8 section about selling C5 wheels. A little while before that, somebody was curious about engine specs in their C1amd posted it in this section. My point is, the ssctions are clearly marked and there is no excuse to "accidentally" post in the wrong section. As far as knowing which is the right section to post in, the names are all self explanatory. For example, this section, "C8 General Discussion" means general discussion about the C8 Corvette. Are we discussing the C8 in this thread? Yes.
Another example, want to sell your C7 exhaust? Post in the C7 Part for sale section. Simple.
