Yeah really...the Toyota Camry has been running overhead cam setups for years now...woohoo, big deal!

Save your time everyone. Just the same stuff that's been around for months with zero proof to back it up.

Exciting info.

This is, indeed, about sharing new info and offering insights, and not simply a spam job.
This rumoured info came out like a year ago when the CAD files leaked. We’ve been talking about DOHC’s, hybrids and all wheel drive around here for months and months. Nothing new featured in the video at all.

I give...What was "new" in this video?
EVERYTHING covered has been hoped for/talked about for MONTHS if not YEARS.
To the OP: Folks get cranky when YOU claim NEW info...you provided NOTHING NEW and in fact, made at least one claim that is patently UNTRUE (The C8 has NOT been in development for 8 years. The C7 was YEARS away from release in 2011.)

That is why many of us don't like to see these uninformed youtube videos get solicited on the forum. They are full of click-bait and opinions from people that have no idea what is going on.

Exactly. I wish folks would say "This is what I THINK....", the minute a poster/youtuber says "NEW", and it turns out to be NOT NEW, but thoughts/opinions that have been on THIS forum forever, all of us push back. Then the OP (in this case) gets his feelings hurt, and we all get labeled "haters".

You make $0 right now because you can't. Clearly you are trying to get to 1,000 subscribers (youtube's threshold/requirement) so that you can begin to monetize your videos. Or are you committing to not monetizing any of your videos once you hit that threshold?

As others have said, please stop spamming the board with your youtube videos; regurgitating the same information you obtained from this forum for the purpose of trying to generate subscribers so that you can hit the monetization threshold.

Good advice. Maybe you should also. Harry was stating that a BASE model (1LT in C7 speak) had better not be close to $100K.

I think he used it right. He was talking about a base trim car, not about the engine.

Thanks, Armchair (aptly named!)

I appreciate your POV, but for the record I didn’t get any of that info from this forum. If you checked, you would see that I was reviewing items that were left by a viewer. As another person noted in this thread - perhaps I should have just stated that these were MY latest views on those rumors.

One thing that I honestly do not get - folks need to understand that, for many, all of this dialogue continues to be new news. The C8 is attracting new potential Corvette enthusiasts all of the time. For those who already are up on the news, keep scrolling. For those who can learn something...great.

I have been in Corvette circles for over 20 years. If I chose to go through Corvette Forum threads and simply point out everything that is not new TO ME, I guess I could stay quite busy. But, instead...if something is not new or interesting to me, I just keep on scrolling, appreciating that it could be new, breaking news, to someone. If something is old news to me...fine. It’s ok. Really...it is.

No hurt feelings here. Curious, yes....as to what motivates folks to put in the kind of energy it takes to complain rather than just scroll-on-by, if the info is old TO YOU or not interesting TO YOU.

I do it all of the time....just scroll until you see something you like. It’s easy.

“Talking”, maybe. But, did you even read the viewer’s comment about the evidence that newly surfaced? Or, did you just go into “keyboard warrior mode” and drop this here without even looking into what is going on?

They really do help when you’re trying to bounce your eyes back and forth between the camera lens and reference material and you don’t want your audience to feel like you are looking off into space.

Thank you for watching...and thank you for taking the time to express your opinion.

Turns out, despite some being skeptical, there is indeed new info. Check the comments.

All Wheel Drive seems to be in the works, and Hybrid evidence has surfaced.

Exciting info.

Tony,

Just viewed your video. Thanks for the information in your video. Just ignore the haters. Unfortunately I have not posted much on the forum due to the naysayers that are quick to criticize and blast people who are just trying to contribute to the forum. As car enthusiasts why not just enjoy the posts and have respectful and fun debates regarding whats going on in the corvette world. I have seen first time posters get blasted for their first post. Not very welcoming. Like you said instead of criticizing just move on and be respectful. I guess it is the sign of the times. Just like the sad state of our politics. Any way post what you want regarding corvette news. Just ignore the naysayers.

Fellow Corvette Enthusiast,

Bill

Thanks, Bill.

I appreciate your perspective. Yes, I think you are correct...sign of the times.

There is something about the keyboard warrior syndrome.
I go to a lot of car meets, and it seems that things go much differently in person...most of the time!
We should be able to bounce news and opions around in a respectful way.
If something is “new news” to one person, but known news to another, that’s fine. It’s all good.
If someone is wearing sun glasses on a day when someone else thinks it’s not sunny enough for them...that’s fine as well.

Give some types (pun intended) a keyboard, and then they want to bow up.....too bad.

Onward...

The C7 was not "near release" in 2011. It was SHOWN to the world at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2013. It "released" (went on SALE) in late summer 2013.
Again, don't use the word NEW and no one will bust your chops. When you say NEW, folks expect NEW information. Someone writing something, that is their OPINION, in your comments section, is not NEW information. I can say that the car is going to weigh 2900 pounds, that is my hope/opinion, but it is NOT new information.
