Up until now I've snickered and scoffed at each of the "inside info" introduction dates and locations.
I'm not going to make any wise comments or scoffs at this one. If we had more mule sightings I'd feel better about it, but still, this is a logical date and location if the ME is a 2020 MY car. I'll watch as will many others.

Duntov was there in 53 and saw the Rockettes. Arkus-Duntov joined GM in 1953 after seeing the Motorama Corvette on display in NYC. He found the car visually superb, but was disappointed with what was underneath. He wrote Chevrolet chief engineer Ed Cole, also an engineer who designed the small block Chevy engine, that it would be a pleasure to work on such a beautiful car; he also included a technical paper which proposed an analytical method of determining a car's top speed. Chevrolet was so impressed, engineer Maurice Olley invited him to come to Detroit. On May 1, 1953, Arkus-Duntov started at Chevrolet as an assistant staff engineer.

While I wish I believed it was going to be revealed in NYC, I have a hunch that NYC is not going to be the reveal location. Ugh.

Unfortunately, I agree. I have a feeling it’s going to be longer than anyone here likes. I hope my gut feeling (as that is all it is) is wrong. If we were getting close, we would be seeing something from GM but it’s silent... bad sign in my opinion.

could be. Nobody will know until GM says something. Hopefully, that will be in April even if it's not a reveal. Some kind of mention would be great. The mystery of GM's inner workings....

No matter where it is (if GM ever reveals it), it's gotta be spectacular. The 911 reveal on the eve of the LA Auto show last year was spectacular, Porsche had a 911 from each generation drive thru the staging area where the presentation took place, GM should do something bigger and better.

Today it's -14 below zero.. I'm actually enjoying the anticipation on the C8 but with days like this the only reveal I want is when I take the cover off my stored C7 and drive it out of the garage... After 5 months its like driving a brand new car.

How about a Super Bowl teaser with 200,000,000+ eyeballs on it? About as big an audience you could get for a US car. Unlike most TV commercials the SB ones generally have a much higher viewership.

That's a $2 million commercial slot they absolutely do not need when it's for a car that nobody will be able to buy right away. Prospective Corvette owners (or converts) follow social media pages for cars and the C8 will get all the exposure it needs to sell to its target consumer.

Of the 200,000,000 watching the superbowl, maybe 0.0001% of the people watching would even consider buying one anyways. As opposed to 100,000,000 people who would likely buy a beer or a Pepsi, doritos, etc.

I've decided that the reveal of the C8 is like the weather, I have no control over either. My interest is waning as I have decided I won't be replacing my C7 with another sports/touring car. I still enjoy reading all the comments from those frustrated folks on this forum. Keep on posting.

Excuse me, did not know only people who eat Doritos & drink beer watch pro-sports. Guess I will have to give up pro-sports now. Considering how much season tickets to pro-sports events cost I think your superior attitude is interesting. Cheap seats at the SB start at $2250 each Expect most of those people have deep enough pockets to by a Vette.

Just to transfer the "rights" to buy a season ticket to a family member can run $5,000 a seat for some teams.

BTW With GM dumping 2/3 of a billion dollars into Bowling Green $2,000,000 is chump change.

The need to do a new car reveal at an auto show is quickly becoming a thing of the past. In fact, many manufacturers no longer display at many shows, even the big ones. Look at all of the brands that have pulled out of the Detroit show. I go to the LA show almost every year and the days of seeing Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, and Rolls Royce are history. The only reason Porsche pays for it's own hall at the L.A. show every year is because L.A. is by far the largest market for Porsche in the world, and Porsche is such a successful company that they can easily afford to show in L.A. Secondly, let's say a car such as the C7 has a 6 or 7 year run. What percentage of C7 owners went to Detroit when it was introduced in 2013? I have owned close to 50 cars including 11 Corvettes, and never have seen a car introduced at an auto show and then ran out an bought one. Furthermore, because of the internet, it makes just as much sense to introduce the C8 on the web, especially if the car is not ready for the NY show in April. GM can choose a location anywhere that makes sense to them, announce to the world the date and time that the C8 will be introduced on the web, invite the press, and bingo, it's done! My guess, and this is just a guess, is that the C8 will be introduced on the web this summer.

GM started teasing the C7 in early December 2012 leading to the January 2013 intro.
NYIAS starts 4/19 so, if New York is it, we should start seeing teasers in about a month, assuming history repeats itself.

Besides, the C8 has already been seen....where have you guys been?

Oh wait, wrong C8....my bad.
