I would actually be shocked if the C8.R was hiding much. Kinda hard to work out aerodynamics on a track with bits of camo stuck all over the place, and generally the lines of the race car and street cars vary enough there isn't a huge interest in doing so. Not to mention, a race track is a closed environment, people can't get close enough to the car to really see minute detail the way they could parked at a stop light.

I call BS for one reason: no way is GM making a car with such perfect wheel gaps...am I right?

I had a similar theory but what I think hasn't been discussed is the similarities between the new supra and mid engine Vette. The Aria concept is to the mid engine Vette as is the ft1 concept to the 2020 supra. Both the Aria and ft1 were designed by groups outside of the parent car company and both look similar to their actual counterparts. Heres ft1 and supra

It's not a real car, just a concept with no drivetrain.

Default Aria vs C8

It was huge. Lucas had to figure out something for Empire Strikes Back so the movie info wasn’t leaked too soon. That’s why it was called Blue Harvest in the beginning, and this was way before social media and digital cameras. Even Disney had to create dummy corporations to buy up land for Disney World because if word got out. The price of land would increase dramatically. So here are the “What if’s”.What if the concept of the C8 is actually the Aria FXE. I know this has been discussed before, but has anyone really done a deep dive on this theory? Let me explain, but before I do. Yes the world is round, and yes we landed on the moon. Aria in the dictionary means an elaborate song. What if this is a joke to say that this is a Dummy company and the name is tongue in cheek for an elaborate ruse? Are some of the members of Aria are from GM? What if GM is making a lot of noise over there while they are making the real C8 over here (I’m hand gesturing but you can’t see it).

Now am I saying the Aria is the C8? Yes and no. Here’s why. Again this is a concept. Has anyone really seen the aria on the road or track? I’ve only seen static displays.Look at the front of the Aria car. Doesn’t look anything like the spy shots of the C8, but it does have Corvette lineage (not great lineage but this is more fun coming from GM). Do you remember Corvette Summer? Some are trying to forget, but do you remember the awful front headlight design? If a designer was to make a 2019 version of that front end, wouldn’t it look like the Aria? Also today’s car designers with the knowledge of aerodynamics. Would they really design headlights like that on a 200+ MPH hyper car? Really? This is fun at our expense.

Look at the tail lights. Kind of look like squashed C7 brake lights right?
There’s been talk of the C8 having a rear split window like the 1963 C2 Stingray coupe. Again the Aria has these features.

The interior of the Aria looks completely concept to me, however it does have similarities of the spy photos we have seen of the C8 interior.

Also the Aria FXE has a V8 with front electrical motors. Not too different of the C8 rumors.LOL this is a little thin, but what if FXE means Front Engine Exit. Now you could say that the Aria is not a Targa top and the body lines don’t match. Well like I said….It’s a concept car. Still there are too many similarities.I’m sure there’s more about this I’m not seeing and people on this forum will sigh and moan that this is utter B.S. but what if? What if we are all focusing on a hunk of junk and the real C8 was right under our nose.Let the flaming begin….
Great post. Definitely some design elements in common. The biggest difference is that the Aria is low, sleek, and fluid.

Another possibility...maybe GM is using the Aria platform to test the C8 mechanicals.

Hey, it supposedly has an HO LT4 in it, maybe its GMs test bed, not that I can find a bit of info on one that actually runs. Oh but wait, that carbon fiber monocoque might be an issue too.

Gents - there are a lot of family ties between the crew that builds the Aria "Fast Eddy's" and the stylists at GM in Detroit. In addition, the Aria and the likely C8 powertrains are highly common. Because of these factors, the similarities we have seen between the Aria FE and FXE and the C8 test cars are NOT coincidental, but they are probably not the same car. Production method is one big reason - the Aria's are essentially hand-built, while the C8's will be built on a highly automated line. Another is that the C8 has come a few years later - GM undoubtedly "borrowed" features of the Aria they liked and created new versions of things they thought could improve upon.

The point however, is that the Aria intentionally evokes the Corvette look in a mid-engine architecture. The objectives of the GM designers under Welburn and Bennion is essentially the same as the Aria's team. That means that these cars should be thought of as "two sons / brothers from different mothers". The C8 will likely look a lot more like the Aria FE then the Toyota Supra looks like the FT1, and that's a VERY GOOD thing.

I would run to a dealer and leave a deposit RIGHT NOW if it was confirmed that's how the C8 would look.

The Aria is without a doubt the hottest looking Super/Exotic/Hyper-car yet.

And your observations are much more believable than Zerv 02's.

I sincerely hope the C8 is a close resemblence to the Aria.

True. They had the FXE “pre-production” car at Sunset GT a while back and it turned out that most of the body panels on that show car were actually one piece with fake panel gaps etched/cut into the body. There was no engine In the car and the dash was actually fake screenshots in place of working screens. I doubt that there is even an electrical system in that car. Skip to 3:30:

If the new mid-engine "C8" looks anything like the Aria, then GM will have a winner on their hands...That's one sexy car.

Looks like the cabin in this image is higher. Wish we could get someone from the forum to Photoshop the front to mimic the road tested C8.
