Are you familiar with the Porsche Boxster/Cayman? You can get one with a PDK (best DCT in existence, for those who don't know), PASM (adjustable suspension), and Sport Chrono for $65K MSRP. Build quality is a step above any Corvette, and the engine, while not as powerful, is more expensive to produce than the antiquated (but great) LT1.

I swear, the C8 is to budding Youtubers as the O.J. trial was to out of work lawyers who became "journalists".

Why do people keep saying this?

Just watched a video on You tube regarding the C8 Basic price. They stated it will be $120 basic price. LT1 producing 540 HP, 2nd engine 5.5 liter 600 HP and the third engine for the ZR1 5.5 twin turbo with 800 HP.
No manual transmission mentioned at all.
Well, leaves me out, I don't need to spend $120K plus for a corvette.I think that will most likely include most average corvette buyers. Debut will be a stand alone announcement.
Well, GT500 where are you....lolol

Handy tip....don't use YouTube as your source of information...ON ANYTHING.

No reason to be priced more than $60k for the bare bones 1LT. It looks like a $60k car so it should be priced accordingly.

Here is a quick way to produce a mid/rear engined car.
1 take a front wheel drive car
2 move steering from front wheels to the rear wheels
3 turn passenger compartment around to face the rear
Presto-Chango, mid/rear drive car.

"2019 CORVETTE PRICE INCREASE TO $149,000.00"
....for a ZR1. You can still buy a stingray for $55,000. 460 HP serves me well and I don't need all the bells and whistles including an additional 295 HP. I have no doubt the C8 will be priced a little higher but not that much. If you get more bells and whistles and HP the price will go up maybe to $200,000. Who knows. It's all speculation just like the design and what engine it will have.

Everyone has an opinion on what pricing may look like. Personally, I don't see GM selling $120k base C8's. Maybe down the line in the top-level models but if they continue with past pricing strategies, we'll have a base car introduced first, then the higher HP higher priced cars later. I have to believe the base cars WILL cost more than the present C7, but still be less than the Carrera base, which should run around $100k. While Porsche has not introduced the new base Carrera, the new S is $8k more than last year's S. So, I would expect the base Carrera to follow the same general cost increase.
That said, I expect the C8 base model to arrive at around $75k, which represents a step up in cost from the Camaro (and makes sense since the Corvette is generally thought to be a higher level car than the Camaro) but is still less than the base Porsche Carrera. I recently began shopping for a pickup truck, and built a GMC Denali to my liking. The price - $70k. Pickup trucks are the bread and butter of the industry at this time, and if GM can ask $60-$70k for a truck, their halo car makes sense at $75k-$85k.
Just one person's opinion.
Just my opinion, but it sure seems that cars and trucks keep getting more expensive, so it follows that the C8 would also cost a bit more.

The ZR1 coupe price increase is $2,000 (from $118,900 to $120,900). The ZR1 convertible goes up $2,500.
I'm curious...were you trolling or were you told this nugget and didn't check it?

I have a deeply seeded inside source that I never disclosed for obvious reasons.
What I can tell you about upcoming C8 is this.....
The new C8 pricing will start at $1.00.
Yes. $1.00.
And if you want anything on the C8, like.....
Wheels, lugnuts, brakes, brake lines, beake fluid, electronics, relays, fuses, lights, headlamps, blinkers, interior seating, glass, carpeting, emissions, exhaust, seatbelts, airbags, a battery, a radio, a rear view mirror, a key fob, an engine with all components to make combustion etc..... the C8 will be more than $1.00.
Be prepared: The C8 will sell for more than $1.00.
Guaranteed. My source is 100% spot on.

With OPTIONS?
When you said the price increased to $149,000, that implies BASE PRICE went up that much, c'mon man....
So, a loaded up ZR1 WAS $147K, now it's $149K
