Default Video on the 2020 C8 price

Just watched a video on You tube regarding the C8 Basic price. They stated it will be $120 basic price. LT1 producing 540 HP, 2nd engine 5.5 liter 600 HP and the third engine for the ZR1 5.5 twin turbo with 800 HP.
No manual transmission mentioned at all.

Well, leaves me out, I don't need to spend $120K plus for a corvette.I think that will most likely include most average corvette buyers. Debut will be a stand alone announcement.
Well, GT500 where are you....lolol

Why does everybody think a rear ME car will be more expensive to build than a front ME car? Just because some exotic car manufacturers set up their assembly lines to produce a low volume of cars doesn't mean it has to be that way. GM is going to produce the C8 on the same line they currently use for the C7 with approximately the same number of stations and the same number of people and with the same volume capacity. I bet the labor hours required to build a car will be about the same as the industry average of 17-19 hours per car. There is nothing that makes a rear ME car different to assemble than any other car. They all have identical equipment that has to be fit into the same basic package shape. All OEMs buy their subassemblies from the same few suppliers. The functional parts of each subassembly all have the same design with some particular things for each OEM. Prices of the those subassemblies are based on volume. The difference is in how much they charge for the car. They can build a fully decked out Escalade for about the same price they can build a Cruze. However, the Escalade will retail for $90K and with a big discount will sell for $70K while they will break even selling the Cruze at $25K.

GM wants the C8 to be priced within a close range of the C7 so people only see a slight escalation in price due to inflation and the fact it is a new design. Been that way for every model change over throughout Corvette's history.

There is a lot of complete BS on YouTube. That would be like one of our disgraced forum prophets making a video chocked full of utter nonsense.

The never ends nor does the click bait you tube nonsense. Those who KNOW surely are not publicly posting. The Base model will NOT be 120 K.

Absolutely agree.....no way the C8 base model is going to be $120,000!!! I am thinking a base Coupe will start out at around $65 ish. After 65 years of selling Corvettes they are not going to ruin what works for them!

I dread seeing a 65k msrp ME Corvette.... you guys are insane if you think they can pull that off with any semblance of being legit and not a cardboard plastic junk box.

you want the 120k base car lol. Even then it will have cut plant of corners I'm sure.

If they couldn't produce a $65k ME Corvette that isn't a cardboard plastic junk box then how do they produce the current FE Corvette for how cheap it is?

Just because the configuration is mid engine doesn't mean the car has to be
priced astronomical. The difference between Corvette and other mid engine cars will be mass production which selling in volume will keep the price in check. This is how the Corvette has always sold cars in the past. I see no reason to change this and if an entry level mid engine Corvette started at 120k...It would be the end of Corvette. GM knows this!

Yep, a $55K C7 base Stingray is a hell of a great value with a high degree of quality and performance. There's nothing inherently more expensive about an ME design despite what some forum prophets would have us believe.

there's also youtube videos that claim the earth is flat, covered by a glass dome, that satellites and the moon landings are lies created by satan to fool the believers and that the flat earth sits on an ocean of water.
95 percent of what you find on the internet are lies, 4 percent are rumors and the rest are old men yelling at clouds.

Because there is a huge difference in cost when you put the engine in the back instead of the front, right? LOL

I wonder if I create a YouTube video saying the C8 is going to be based at $60k if it would be believed the way the rest of these YouTube vids are...
