Neither employee nor supplier pricing are really outstanding. Supporting vendors beat those prices all the time. Obviously when the C8 comes out supply and demand will take effect and MSRP is what we will see even from "our guys" like the ZR1 is now. And for your local dealers? I'm guessing "regional market adjustments" will be the norm for quite awhile. If you are offered employee or supplier pricing right at the C8 intro, it might be something to jump on. But if you're patient, there will be better deals down the road.

In 2013 a couple of the big-name forum dealers around here couldn't even be bothered to call / email me back. They'll were literally so busy their voice mailbox were full. They're clearly too busy for their own good so don't believe they're always your best bet. I got over 5k off using the supplier discount, which for 2014 was a big deal.

I get GM employee pricing. Not sure if its changed in 2019, but from past experience pricing all depends on the car, the model and options selected. Lowest priced models get less discount. Higher priced models get more. Higher priced models heavily optioned get the most. In other words, if you choose a high end car where all the options you want are included you'll get less then a lower priced version of the same model heavily optioned out. In 2005 a new C6 in its first year nicely optioned with a MSRP of $53k received about a $8000 discount over the best dealer pricing available. Up until recently, some dealers had been offering as much as 15% or more off C7's plus giving employee pricing to all which is far greater then employee pricing alone.

That was precisely my point. If you qualify and can get suppler or employee pricing at introduction, it's probably something to jump on. But overall, if you are patient, when the frenzy dies down, forum vendors will offer a better deal in most cases. Of course, you need to connect with someone who will offer you supplier pricing, even though you don't technically qualify.

You got a good deal - esp. if they let you order it!

Yes! I ordered from Les Stanford. I do believe they were the first ones / one of the first in the country to accept supplier discount when everybody else was only giving 2K off.
