GMS Pricing

It’s not a dealer specific choice. GMS pricing is not available on release and only when GM allows it is it available to those that qualify. Same with Employee pricing.

I got GMS pricing on my 2015 order. I took museum delivery on that car on September 5, 2014. Order would have been placed early Spring where I was #1 at a large allocation dealership for a 2015. GMS is employee pricing.

I got my 2014 in April 2014 from Les Stanford Chevrolet - GMS pricing. Ordered in February before GMS was allowed - hedging my bets - with their agreement.

If you're looking for a discounted order on a new C8, you'll have to wait about 6 months after initial shipments to get that.

GMS pricing offered on my '15 ordered Oct 2014. Was a 9% discount back then, and I believe the dealer told me that was $200 over invoice.
At that time, I had a couple options for the offer, either membership in a credit union or via educator credentials (wife is a teacher). I chose credit union - went down to local credit union open to all residents in the area, opened an account with $200, and then was able to use the discount. Pulled the money and closed the CU account the following year. At the time, putting that $200 on deposit six months with a CU enabled a $6,900 discount from MSRP.
I'm anticipating that it'll be some time before such discounts show up on the C8.

I am not sure when GMS pricing changed on C7 but GMS on my first 15' C7 Z51 was 12.4% discount, then 11.6% on my 16' Z51 and then dropped to 10.4% on the next couple of Z06s I got. Employee pricing is pretty much a joke now as you can do significantly better just off the street. The key is to find the dealers that will work additional % discount over your discount code, many will say it's against their agreement but some will figure out how to make it work.

Yeah, GMS isn't what it used to be. I know it's not the same car, but GMS on a ZL1 is only about 3.2% off list, which isn't a great deal. GM could change the pricing of the C8, and reduce it from the 10%. It's going to be almost impossible to get GMS on a C8 at a local dealer for me. Thankfully, there are forum dealers who sell at volume and will be more willing to honor GMS pricing.
