"I played golf...I did not get a hole in one, but I did hit a guy. That's way more satisfying." - Mitch Hedberg

"Golf is a day spent in a round of strenuous idleness." - William Wordsworth

“Boredom forces you to ring people you haven’t seen for eighteen years and halfway through the conversation you remember why you left it so long. Boredom means you start to read not only mail-order catalogues but also the advertising inserts that fall on the floor. Boredom gives you half a mind to get a gun and go berserk in the local shopping centre, and you know where this is going. Eventually, boredom means you will take up golf.” - Jeremy Clarkson

"There are over seventeen thousand golf courses in America, they average over one hundred and fifty acres a piece. That’s three million plus acres, four thousand, eight hundred and twenty square miles. You could build two Rhode Islands and a Delaware for the homeless on the land currently being wasted on this meaningless, mindless, arrogant, elitist, racist, there’s another thing; the only blacks you’ll find at country clubs are carrying trays. And a boring game. A boring game for boring people. You ever watch golf on television? It’s like watching flies f#ck!" - George Carlin

...but then.

I was at a car show and a guy had a new Ford GT.

He comes over and looks at my car and says,"I got you beat, I got NO TRUNK!" we had a good laugh.

This is absolutely hilarious. You can transport a cello in a C7 and you could care less about a ME, updated Corvette. Guys transport golf clubs, TVs, 2X4s, and all kinds of other junk in Corvettes but a sports car that is validated by its ability to carry a cello is too much. OMG, heard it all now.

I'd bet thatis the reason the *** (which people complain about the size of) is so big.

The ability of a sports car is meaningless to me but understand that this car will have the ability to carry golf clubs, bet on that. Might not be the ridiculously huge bags that some guys have but it will carry them.

The Pantera had a huge trunk.

That is true - one set of clubs in a small carry bag (although the driver & 3 wood has to come out to angle it in to the storage area) - not two sets of clubs in cart bags (plus two shoe bags and two overnight duffels) like the current C7 coupe.

Some comments:

1. My wife's 2002 (ME) Boxster had enough room for 2 weeks at the beach, including a telescope.

2. I sold my pick-up, so I just loaded 1 1/2 sheets of 3/4" cabinet grade plywood cut into 12"x40" pieces for a shelving project. Fit into my C7 no problem... (the lumber guy didn't flick an eye)

3. I believe if the average Corvette owner/golfer left their driver and putter at home they would cut 3 stroke of their handicap.

just remember...

"Golf is a game where you hit a wee ball into a wee hole with a wee stick ill-designed for that very purpose"

All speculation, of course.
Accurate, except there's an airbox above the transaxle, as can be seen in the CAD drawing of the V8TT. There may only be a cargo hold a little larger than the "A" yellow box in your photo. Between the exhaust tips lies a big *** muffler.

All I've heard is what is public, and Lutz did say that they "solved" the ME cargo problem. My guess is that they would have had to solve it if they were to get project approval, but this is GM so who the hell knows. After all they produced the Camaro6 with a trunk that is smaller than that of the C7, with an opening that's even more ridiculously tiny.

A long time ago I had a nice weekend with Dave Mclelland Chief engineer of the late C-3's and of course the C-4.

He told me that an 'inviolable rule' was enough Trunk space to take two Golf Bags and your best girl.

My 82 CE CERTAINLY has that and more.

For me Chevy...if it's impractical....you can keep it! ie sales will take a big hit. You want a car that enables a long weekends worth of luggage. For the guys, that's no problem, for your significant other, she always packs like she's moving to another country!

Yes, this will doom the C8 and GM should cancel it before it loses any more money on this useless car.

Pretty harsh for a guy from a town with 185 Golf Courses! (and obviously a love of Corvettes.) wink!

What's the option number for the trailer hitch on a C-8? LOL RPO# PXG?????

If your best girl goes in the trunk, who goes in the passenger seat?

I believe that is one of the reasons why you don’t see V-8 powered, low-priced, ME sports cars. I still think that there is a possibility that the C8 Corvette will be FE, and the ME car something else

storage space? Hahaha. I haven't even figured out where to put my Glock 27 in my 458.
