Went to the Chevy dealer
Went down to the locale Chevy dealer and asked about the C8. Really couldn’t get much info. They just tried to sell me a leftover 17 GS and look at some 18 / 19 models. The last of the C7’s just sitting on the lots. Everybody that’s looking at new will most likely wait for that C8

Be prepared for a a lot of problems on the first C8s. I'd wait for year 2 or 3. C7 values will tank so it'll be cheap to get one.

My local dealer had no clue on the 2020 line up.

I am more inclined to believe that some members here on the Forum have more inside information than the salesman at your local dealer down the road.

110%. There are very few in the know.

Agree, sales, last to know, as GM wants them to sell all on the lot - hopefully first. I suspect GM wants the C7s cleared out b4 providing dealers C8 allocations.

You will know when the C8 is coming close to being a reality...when there are major incentives from GM on the C7's.

My 2005 C6 was built during the first month of production and never had an issue in the first four years I owned it. I have only one reservation about buying an early production C8, paying MSRP and eating that depreciation. But...

Like when the C7 was revealed and I saw my first one in person, it looked slim/narrow.
While I had no interest in the C7, the introduction of the C7 Z06 was most appealing. Then the ZR-1.
I have high hopes for the C8. Perhaps they will come out with a wide body version right off the bat. Maybe not. If not, and it is not on par with current C7 Z06 performance, I am certain there will be 3 performance levels to choose from.
I will be waiting for the highest performance level offered if I find the overall C8 design appealing enough.

Nah, dealers want C7s cleared out before C8s show up. C7s sitting on dealers lots is not GMs problem, it is a dealer problem. Those cars are owned by the dealers, not GM, and if they are no longer the current model they are not a holdup to dealers putting in more orders as a current gen would cause.

Or it could be GM has dealers on the muscle to keep ordering C7s when the really don't want many more because first year allocations of the C8 (if it does make into production??) will be as in the past determined by C7 sales.

I'm sure of it. Some even think it'll be limited edition. They don't seem interested and know even less.

There most certainly are, and are tight-lipped, but have occasionally dropped hints for the keen reader.
