I like the rounded "McLaren" read end of the moving C8 in the first 2 vids. at 33 sec.

A bevy of C8s. Crappy weather too so the reveal must be getting closer.

When you hear the cars start up, these sound almost exactly like an LT1 to me.

That's a major possibility. There are multiple threads on the evidence of a split-window coupe. One notable piece of evidence was the rear hatch in a picture on the button to pop the rear hatch. It showed a thick line down the middle of the window. It's an interesting subject and would be a bold move from GM.

I studied this video closely for the split and struck out. I would love to see better detective work than mine.

Also worth noting is that this video was apparently filmed by the mother from Bob's Burgers.

I've tried zooming in but the text blurs,
What does the text on the 'Stop' sticker on the side windows say?

Looking at how the camo stretches over the side cove I'm seeing a lot of similarities to the Venom F5. I think the ring test cars are accurate other than the side cove.

I'm still blown away by the need. Hydraulic parking brakes have been around a long time. Quite common in the aftermarket, why the need for an additional caliper/pad/bracket/etc? A simple hydraulic line lock would have solved it and could have used the same caliper as the "braking system".

I don't know... all my Corvettes have had the internal drum brake on the rear rotor. I've seen a lot of "exotic" cars that use the secondary caliper option.

They've been that way from C5 forward. C4s didn't have dual calipers in the rear, but the rear single-piston caliper was also mechanically actuated via the parking brake cable. So the main hydraulic rear brake caliper also served as the parking brake.

Apparently it's European law?

"By law, there must be a secondary system for brake actuation to use in an emergency if the hydraulic system should fail; the secondary system is also functions as the parking brake."

"In our market (Europe) the handbrake must be a separate system, independent from the normal footbrake. This is for safety reasons that there still is an alternative should the normal system fail. (However, do not ask me how this works for the electronically actuated handbrakes...)"

Yeah. We in the US got rid of that ridiculous law ages and ages ago when dual-hydraulic brake systems were put into cars. The odds of both hydraulic paths failing is so teeny it's not worth worrying about. Which is why we no longer call them "Emergency" brakes, but instead "Parking" brakes.

Some day, Europe will catch up. ;-)

I hate that GM is engineering these cars for the European market which is tiny in comparison to US/ME/Asia. The C7's bumper fangs and high hood cowl and resulting high belt line are all because they designed it for Europe where they sell a pittance of cars.

The vidoe of the cars driving in the snow is pretty cool and high quality. I go back and forth on this car, in some shots it looks boring and squareish, but then along comes a video like the snow video with the car in motion and it looks a lot better. Still have a lot of concerns (such as wheels are kinda bland, and the steering wheel is horrible) but could turn out interesting.
