Yeah, gotta agree, and have been a senior exec at 3 large organizations and still am. The uniform thing has been debunked and new school management thinking embraces casual and individuality. All the best private primary and secondary schools have also dumped uniforms for the same reasons.
Pay a visit to Google, Facebook, or Apple some time, and check out the attire. No one can deny the high level of creativity and job satisfaction going on there.

We've gone business casual, and worker productivity is much better than the days of business suits 5 days a week. The culture is far more relaxed, friendly, with higher morale and teamwork. I'm at the top of the food chain and rarely wear a tie any more.
Uniforms don't do anything except make prettier marketing photos of the assembly line.

Lots of ways. When you are talking about handmade parts, custom tooling, dealing with suppliers who have lead times, it can easily take months to get a problem taken care of.
WE had an EMC issue at a previous job of mine on a comfort feature ECU. The fix was done in a couple days, we sat around for two or three months waiting for new PCBs to get made and populated and new ECUs to be built to test. Wasn't a heck of a lot we could do, the supplier making the parts was backed up and if I recall correctly new connectors were on backorder. That was for a rather small unit that didn't control much.

Yeah, agree, but it's a compromise.

Me too (obviously from avatar). I suppose it depends on what segment you’re involved in, but on the part 135/commercial side I feel that dress code is important. I don’t think the outfit makes the person but it certainly conveys a message to the people riding in the back.

I am starting to think that instead of delayed it may be a head of schedule. Maybe in the early development it was internally designated to be a 2021 model, but things went better than expected and they saw a possibility I’d bringing it out as a 2020 model. So they changed the internal designation to a 2020 model and are now rushing to bring it out to meet the new updated timeline.

There's nothing more uncomfortable than the traditional suit and tie or sport coat and tie. Golf shirts and khakis with casual shoes are a Godsend to the workplace. These days; "Nice business clothing" sounds like formal rented apparel the t-shirt and jeans guy might rent for a wedding every few years.
