The guy has 22 posts. It's not exactly hard to do some background checking on that. 20 of the posts are him asking for status updates on his C7 order. 1 is a reply to a classified ad mentioning that he lives in Romeo. And #22 is the post here.

So there's not exactly a history of credibility here. If he is credible, then he's also in deep **** if anyone at GM decides to play detective and match up all those Customer Service inquiries with the car's order and ownership documentation.

I already know when the reveal and SOP is scheduled. I also know the ballpark pricing and when the current C7 (and ZR1) will end. I just can't tell you for the reason you said.

So, in your opinion, if you're going to track the car (I've never tracked my C7) but i will the grand sport if I get it. Did you notice a big difference? Is it worth it? When do you think it is good time to dump my C7? I have a BMW M to trade in, I own both.

I appreciate your time.

I ordered my 2014 Z51 early. It was built in September 2013 and I got it the first week in October. It was a 3LT without MRC.

Sold it in 2017 and got my Grand Sport from Kerbeck in May 2017. I don't track but often drive aggressively. Have a large fountain at the end of my street where the narrow road splits in two. In Track have reached a "peak" of over 1.2 gs with the Grand Sport! Note that's peak not a sustained skid pad number! No question there is more traction with the wider tires and with the MRC set at Track when on a smooth road. Lot's of good magazine articles expounding the virtues on the Grand Sport on a Track. However the Z51 is also excellent so would say it's better (including the 6 piston versus 4 piston front brakes) but best reading some articles and looking at lap times as to how much.

The value of your car will be less, IMO when the C8 comes out. But since the price will be much less than a new C8 perhaps not that much. You have already taken the biggest hit. I have sold all 4 of my Vettes on my own. That will be a big difference from Trading. Don't know that there is any magic time except always best to wait until Spring as Vette demand is significantly higher than Winter.

Unlike my C7, I will wait to get the C8, at least 6 months, if not longer depending on engine options and would like a Grand Sport (or whatever they will call it) with probably wider tires than the 305's on the cars in Germany. We'll see.

My Grand Sport is just ~2 years old and is a great car. But I've run out of mods with my last an MGW shifter! Won't be super happy as the C8 will be my first DD in ~60 years without a 3rd pedal!

Yes, you're right, I miscalculated.

So when does Car & Driver declare they have "inside information" on the release of the C8?

They did it with the Acadia as well. That said, different animal there, as the Acadia went to a new platform while the platform mates Traverse and Enclave stayed on the old platform for another year, so wasn't a big deal to pump out both at the same time.

Thanks. I wasn't aware they did that.

Default "Another year of waiting on the C8 release date......."

I hope so! I just got my new C7 in late 2017. Wouldn't want to rush things now.

some times i think maybe it was actually a good idea back in the days when you bought the chassis and went to a coach builder for the body.
