I'm joking but this angle does remind me of that hideous beast... here is hoping it's just camo and a bad angle. I really want the C8 to be a massive success and I really want one but some of the design elements (albeit camouflaged) worry me a bit.

Dear Tool Hoarder....Those who forget history etc.

1. I OWN a C-3 Corvette with a hatch...can EASILY take two golfbags, and overnight suitcase and a cooler and a folding chair.
2. Of course there were no '83 Corvettes sold to the public.
3. All of the vehicles you mention could take the STIPULATED BY BILL MITCHELL 'two golf bags'
4. I have a 69 convertible....top up plenty....top down, er-ah, one golf bag.

Think MARKETING....Chevy wants to sell 20-45k of these puppies....why give an impediment to sales? This is like making the seat only 39 inches from the pedals...
XYZ of your buyers are going to walk away.

Food for thought and history.

The remarkable thing is not how good Ferrari is, the remarkable thing is how Chevrolet can approach and sometimes exceed Ferrari performance at a fraction of the price and with far greater reliability and economy. And your 68 is as beautiful as any Ferrari conceived.

Try driving down 5th avenue in Naples Florida during happy hour.. You'll see outrageously beautiful Ferrari's driven by Viagra pumped grey hairs parked with bragging rights in front of just about all the high end restaurants on the street. Could be their prime market in America. On the other hand, GM since the intro of the C7 seems to have given up on chrome loving boulevard cruisers and has taken after the bourbon sipping middle aged track crowd with a need for excessive speed. Two completely different targets, two completely different cars. High power being the only common denominator.. ..
Bottom line...If I could afford it I'd take the Ferrari in a heartbeat but I'm still happy with the American classic.

Even if you have the money, don't you have to be "invited" to purchase one based on past ownership?

So I've heard.
Having never seriously attempted to buy a new Ferrari (), I don't know what the local dealership requires.

Interesting... no wonder I thought it was an updated 488... it has the same greenhouse and doors, didn't realize that until now.

Guys this is getting BEYOND ridiculous. As a former car designer...there are PARAMETERS that every mid engine car designer has to follow..

Air in/ cooling/ luggage/ lights/ drivetrain/aerodynamics/sightlines/ break-over angles/ ride height, etc etc etc etc etc...

So why are all of you in a FROTH when the same 'specs' end up looking similar? This is called 'Concurrent Engineering" . Two equally talented engineers working separately TO THE SAME SPECS will come up with similar designs.

Be patient and let the car come out!

So step 1 buy any used Ferrari? Like a F355 that needs headers, timing belt, and a clutch

I think those liking the F8, like it because it’s Ferrari: unapologetic and beyond confident in its styling. If this same car had crossed flags on it, I’m fairly confident the majority of comments would sound like. “Too busy, not a Corvette and designed for the Transformers generation”. The C7 looks tame compared to the F8 and there plenty of posts on this website complaining that the C7 is “too busy” of a design.

And I disagree with Corvette design team being less talented than Ferrari’s. These guys come up with some amazing designs however the corporate brass marches in the studio and says, “too radical. Dial it back...WAY back”.

I like the F8 but Corvette guys would never want anything half as radical looking as that (although I would love to see it). The new Vette has got to be able to hold two sets of golf clubs. It’s gotta have plastic fantastic engine covers plastered all over a visually unimpressive engine. It’s also got to look like the previous Vette but it has to be revolutionary in design. Us Corvette guys are a tricky bunch to make happy.

I get your point, but I really can't see anyone walking if the C8 looked like the F8 just because it didn't hold a pile of golf bags. People are very good at rationalizing away shortcomings if they see what they like. That's like kicking a beautiful. hot, sexy woman out of bed, because she isn't a great cook. Not gonna happen.

I think the entire golf bag thing is silly. Golf has been on a steady decline for over a decade. Golf courses are closing. Golfers are aging out, just like Corvette buyers. Younger people aren't taking to golf like their parents did. If GM is still using golf bags as a metric for designing sports cars, then maybe they need some new management.
