I wish it looked Italian. Regardless how much extra hidden panels, that nose and rear look very squared out and tall - like a kit car. Don’t worry, there’s no Ferrari F8 Tributo under there

The Ferrari comparison may have been correct up until a few years ago when Ferrari dumped a few turds on the market. Unfortunately there will be some and likely quite verbal detractors who will rip the C8 if it doesn't look like some kind of a Ferrari or Lambo clone. Even in camo it is fairly certain that it will not resemble a 911 in any way thank God.
I cannot think of any Ferrari in decades that I would refer to as a turd.
We should be so lucky that the C8 looks as good or close as any recent mid engine Ferrari 458 488 F8.
I love Corvette and am I guess what's called a Vethe fan boy.
With that said my 2015 458 is by far and away the best over all sports car I have every owned.
If the C8 is 75% what the 458 is in over all performance and styling it will be a Hugh home run for GM.

I hope the C8 doesn't look like ANY car...that is why I think the C8 may not be "as popular" because other than a few minor design differences, it (seems) that it will look like every other mid-engine sports car out there...
The reason the C1 to the C7 are admired by so many, is because they dont look like any other car on the road...even a kid playing in a park knows a Corvette... The same cant be said for a Ferrari or other sports car. That same kid may stare at a Ferrari because its a hot car driving by...but I bet he would know it was a Corvette if one drove by...not so sure they would know Ferrari or Lambo or other...

Another time a guy in his 30's was walking his dog and came over to my garage opening to look at my cars. He asked me if my '56 was an early Camaro. Go figure.
But one thing is for sure. Everyone knows what my 64 coupe is. Most have trouble guessing what year it is, but not all. I'm still dumbfounded by the guy who asked if my 64 coupe was a split window coupe.
I'm glad my Corvettes, past and present, don't look Italian. If I wanted a sports car that looked Italian, I would buy an Italian sports car. I don't want a copy cat car, but that's just me I guess.

I have to agree it so far looks bland and just not right. Chevy doesn't and hasn't made mid engine cars and it shows.
You won't see many on the road but maybe that'll be good for the folks buying them. Make sure you have a good dealership near by you'll he needing the service dept quite often I bet.lol

Six or seven years ago, I was doing some yard work and my garage door was open. Some kids(10-11 years old)rode by and when they saw my garage full of Corvettes, they turned around to get a better look. I was explaining what my 1956 was and my 1964 was, but one kid looked at my C6 Z06 and said "I like your Ferrari best". The others agreed.

It will all work out. Some will love it, some will like it, some will have no opinion (though they are likely not on this forum), some will dislike it, and some will hate it. I respect all of them. It is a new version of an established American classic that I'm hoping to love. If I don't that is okay. I'll drive my C7 and be very happy with it.
Happy 4th of July to all of you.

Well, ALL automotive styling is subjective . . . and as has been said, we don't really know exactly what the C8 will look like yet. I personally disagree with the criticism of the base Corvettes . . . in my own opinion, the "standard" Corvette is always the cleanest and best looking. After that, they start to "J.C. Whitney" the car up, with tacked-on bits and pieces like those old model kits. None of it looks that good, and everything they add is another step away from the stylist's original vision. To each their own, of course - I'm sure the C8R will look great all tricked out, but that's what it's for. The "boy racer" street versions just look silly.

What I know is this, In this city weaving in & out of traffic full of SUV's and pickups where except for front and rear facia's they all look alike I stand out in the crowd with my C7, and that's just the way I like it. As those repetitive hulks gain popularity I'm loving it, Bring them on.. Love it or hate the C7,, I get more compliments and thumbs up today with my C7 then anytime in the past only because I chose to be different and unique......Best part is,, it could only get better with the C8...

For a car not yet revealed I am amazed at the C8's power to rent free space in the hearts and minds of trolls and haters (or their weakness). Surely their heads will explode when it is enjoyed by many - they'll have to cling to their rafts of "show stopper" excuses, such as no round tail lights, to mask their real reasons for being left behind. In other words, the screaming and whining will grow to a fever pitch associated with the emotionalism that it really is. But it's gonna be fun.

How many of the troll haters are even in a position to buy? Thus won’t have to worry about.

Just remember.....when the C7 came out, it clearly looked like the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And yes, the C8 looks like a cross between a 488 and an NSX. I'll reserve final judgement for July 18th.

I can say with 100% certainty, the C8 does in fact, look ugly with all that camo. Hahaha
And like a Halloween costume, time will certainly tell if the C8 looks better with the mask of..... or back on.
