2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified

Default So how do you change plugs on a C8 ME?

I have never been around a Mid Engined car. I got to thinking on how to get to the engine to work on it. Does it all have to be done from the bottom or underneath? Or how much of the area around the rear glass will open up and give you good access to the engine and it's components? Any ideas?

Who cares? Today's cars don't need a spark plug change until 100K miles.

You'll likely trade it in before you change the plugs. It's not 1960 any more.

That's a damn fine question! I'm interested in the answer. Maintenance is one of the most important factors to me in purchasing cars. I'm definitely not he "who cares, I'll just sell it" guy.

I think the last time this question was asked was 1998.

Also, by the time a large number of them are due for a plug change manufacturer support for the 1,000's of electronically controlled system parts will be over with and they'll be turning into 3,4xx lb. pieces of garage/driveway art.

On some V-8s, it's pretty easy from underneath. I don't know how much stuff this one will have in the way.....

Can anyone feel an additional 10 HP on a ~500 HP car? I know I can’t...

Check your owner's manual for proper part number of plugs
Buy 8 of them
One, by one, take off plug wire, unscrew plug, replace with new plug, replace plug wire.
