I wouldn't blink an eye at $100,000.00

Why because they can and will. The C8 is going to kill it... first year, second year and beyond. Corvette is the finest overall sports car per benjamins out there hands down. There is some wiggle room for some higher digits on the window sticker. Once the car is released, many will heading to their dealer to place a down stoke regardless if the car is in the 60's, 70's, 80's or near 100. Never been a more anticipated Corvette. GM knows this and will take full advantage.

With the pre-emptive release of the C7 limited Final Edition Grand Sport and Z06 in Europe, rest assured GM is aiming to broaden their appeal in the lucrative Euro/Asian markets.

After all, Porsche BASE models start at $110k, if you want to compete why wouldn't your second trim level be even higher?

The pricing of Porsche sports cars is flatly laughable at this point. Their own sales people freely admit that these abusive retail prices are the reason why many dealers have only 1 or 2 911s in stock. I can't wait to hear the avalanche of excuses that the Porsche fanboys come up with when the C8 takes center stage and absolutely *** rapes these overpriced snob mobiles at half the price. The C8 is a Porsche humpers worst nightmare for sure. An entry level mid engine C8 with 500+ HP will run the table on the 911 Carrera/S. The Porsche boys have a pretty good idea of what is coming. Their denial and blind criticism of the yet to be revealed C8 will work for now but they will eventually have to hang down their heads and face reality. It will be a difficult time for the Porsche chest pounders as they attempt to rationalize the fact that they have played the fool by paying an outrageous premium for a car that is flatly out classed by a far better looking, superior performing Corvette.

I wouldn't have said it exactly that way, but yep.

Meh, say what you want about Porsche looks, if I'm paying for fit and finish I'd still rather take their interior and panel gaps over whatever I believe GM would come up with even at a $110k base price.

If you're looking at Porsche drive the Cayman, much funner car to drive than the 911. The 911 has turned into something that feels like an oversized rear engine touring car while the Cayman is a fun mid engine sports car. Now if Porsche would get their heads out of their asses and put the larger engine in the Cayman... that would be perfection.

All you humpers, it's humpday for you working class! I'm retired now.
Did Ferrari got hurt bad when Porsche came out with a car that whoops their ***? Maybe they noticed and focused a little more on their future models. Same thing here with the C8. They'll all remain in their perspective market segment and life goes on. I think the ME C8 will be a success story and here we will complain about its shortcomings as usual.

You are so rich and cool... it must be awesome to be you. The problem is many working folks who stretch and save to buy a new corvette would blink. These are the people that make up the largest segment of the corvette demographic.
cant wait for you to show us a pic of the new car you end up with

If I could buy a 2020 C8, manual trans (maybe DCT), sub 3.5 0-60MPH, low 11's with awesome leather interior at a 2LT level I wouldn't think twice at $100k - $110k.
Why do people think a car of this caliber will go for less is beyond me.
I don't care if it has a V6 with Twin Turbos or a V8, as long as it performs.
Ever price out Porsche 911S?
I just left a Porsche dealer today, you can't touch a 911S for less than $140k: https://www.westmontporsche.com/pors...-inventory.htm
The salesman acted like they didn't give a **** if I bought one or not.
Negotiating with these guys would appear to be a waste of time.
I will say the paint on a Porsche looks incredible.
I visited a Mercedes dealer, BMW, Lexus, and even LAMBORGHINI: https://www.perillodownersgrove.com/...uc2zf7kla12430

Given the base price is going to stay within the range of the C7 +10-13% you will be so lucky to only need to spend $65-$70K for what you're looking for.
Good thing you're willing to pay $40K over market value though. Let me refer you to the Ford dealerships that will have $40K mark-ups on 2020 GT500's. They love impulsive and ungrounded people like you.
