Ms. Barra has zeroed out the travel budget.

Sports media from far and wide swarm into the Baseball Hall of Fame every summer, but because Cooperstown is so remote, many end up staying closer to Albany or Syracuse about an hour and a half east or west of Cooperstown.

The Bash could certainly work, if the C8 is ready.

While I'm getting frustrated waiting, all is not lost. GM has said they didn't want to carry the C7 generation as long as previous ones and in the grand scheme of things, they're still ahead. (6 years for the C7 vs 8 years for the C6). . .Just getting impatient I guess.

Well....

Couple ways to look at this...

A- its 1983 all over again. And the next decade of futuristic C4 consisted of bashing- short praise- bash bash bash - ZR1 hype.. bash bash bash bash...... bash bash bash.. long live the C5...

B-everything will turn out fine...

Call me a pessimist but..... lol

To be more accurate, they said ALL of their product lines gens will be shorter.
This was in response to competitor's actions.

True, all manufacturers are moving toward faster development and quicker gen changes. There is overwhelming evidence that sales tend to fall off a cliff after the first few years of a new gen. That's not just a Corvette dynamic, it's for everything without major changes or refreshes.

GM's silly, childish approach to release C8 info is annoying. EVERYONE knows that the C8 is coming, even non-car, non-Corvette people. Someone in management should be tested for paranoia.

Other car manufacturers promote 'Future Vehicles' readily on their corporate websites.

Cadillac, Chevy, Buick, and GMC all have “Future Vehicles” sections of their websites. As soon as they put out their initial press release for a new vehicle, it appears in the future vehicles section.

GM’s approach to the C8 release has been perfect. Everyone knows that it’s coming, but they know little to nothing about it. That also means that the competition knows little to nothing about it, which is good for business. They’ve allowed themselves to create room for delays in the development process by not announcing the car, and it’s highly possible that there have been recent delays. No matter what GM does with the C8 release, it’s the most anticipated car of all time. The idea of that car and how great it would be has everyone on the edge of their seat, unlike the way everyone felt after seeing teasers of the NSX and Supra for a year. Even the GT500’s excitement weakened in the year between it’s announcement and reveal. GM can and probably will put out a series of teasers for the C8 in the weeks leading up to the reveal, and those teasers will be all over social media and the auto news websites.

I think that GM has done a wonderful job with this upcoming reveal! It keeps everyone talking & guessing & keeps the car front page news

Maybe true. I don't think GM has actually done anything. Probably sorting out the glitches that we've been talking about.

On a side note, I am not liking the design so far, but then again I did not like the C7 until I decided to get one lol. I always liked the long hood and stubby rear.

I agree that GM is doing the right thing by not announcing or even officially acknowledging that the ME will be a production car coming soon. However, only a tiny fraction of the public is following it at all, and among that small handful of folks an even tinier fraction has become hysterical because they can't see it right now.

As far as I'm concerned, I can wait as long as GM wants to wait because it's important to get it right.

My opinion...the 2020 Corvette will be revealed this summer before Corvettes at Carlisle and before the NCM 25th Caravan and Anniversary event so that both of these venues will have 2020s on display. Time will tell...

If GM was going to have a press event, then yes, it would be listed there.

I did not expect them to drop the car there anyway. I just wanted to crush what little hope remained in the people who were so convinced they'd do it in New York "because of history" and were still clinging to the idea of some kind of shock reveal.

At this point we know nothing. My guy at Kerbeck told me it will be soon... but with no official press release that there even is a C8... and they are passing on NYC. we can just keep on guessing.......
