No GM press events scheduled for 2019 New York Auto Show
Looks like you can cross off another potential debut location. The press schedule for the 2019 New York show dropped today, and GM's not doing anything, with any or their brands.

I think unveiling it in at the 25th anniversary caravan event would be epic... do it in the car's home town among the Corvette faithful. With social media why do you need a big auto show?
Shoot the "frame issues" are making the rounds on mainstream media already; all from internet forum posts. The car's release will be picked up just fine.

Easy for the "journalist" to fly into Nashville, rent a car in Nashville, rent a motel room in Nashville, have dinner in Nashville, and go to bed in Nashville. Get up the next morning, have an early breakfast at the motel and then drive for an hour on Interstate 65 arriving at Bowling Green in plenty of time for the unveiling at the Museum. Even if you are a few minutes late, the car won't melt waiting for you to arrive.
Look at the pretty little car behind the ropes, maybe get to see one being driven around the museum's track by a GM employee and then get a GM press kit, drive back to Nashville to your motel that evening. The following day, while on the plane, change a few sentences in the GM press release, select which photos(from the GM press kit) to use, while flying home from Nashville. The next day, put your "article" on the new Corvette on your editor's desk.

Melting Slicks
Probably around 15,000 rooms and 40,000 restaurant seats in Nashville plus plenty of flights from all over into Nashville. Over 460 flights daily and to/from 65 non stop markets with over 10,000 passengers daily arriving and departing Nashville daily. That ain't a kick town buddy.

But you are correct in that that is what normally happens. Then write an article for next month's issue of Better Log Cabins and Vegetable Patches in Colorado.
