I can’t wait until the need to accommodate golf clubs in a Corvette goes the way of the dinosaurs. Nothing against golfing or golfers, just shouldn’t even be a consideration. Golfing is on the decline and the need to carry clubs isn’t a consideration for buyers looking to purchase many of the direct competitors (911, Huracan, R8, NSX, 570S, etc) to the Corvette.

If the frunk is big enough to hold 2 golf bags, it will probably end up being an acoustic resonator like the rear compartment of the C7.

I can see it now: 5 different threads on the C8 forum in 2020.

--"How do I reduce road noise in my C8?"--

--"Sound Deadening kit now available for C8"--

--Will non-runflats reduce road noise in my C8?"

-- Dynamat install instruction for your C8 frunk?"--

--"If the C8 road noise bothers you, you shouldn't have bought a mid-engine sports car"

How much room could a frunk have? They're fairly space limited on other rear mid-engine cars. I guess we'll know for sure soon enough.

Nope. The C7 coupe is noisy because the cargo area is part of the cabin. C7 convertibles are noticeably quieter because the trunk is separate. The C8 will have a different issue....engine right behind your head....

Of course, it will fit golf bags, just like this Lotus Elise.

An attached golf bag holder to the rear bumper somehow...more likely although acura does have the ability to hold one golf bag in its rear trunk as long as you pull two clubs out and lay them in seperately...

maybe thats how the c8 will do one golf bag capability in rear trunk.

Won’t be in a he frunk, likely same as boxster they’ll fit in the trunk.

I play golf and in 15 years of Z06 ownership the vette been to the course maybe 2 times. Much easier to throw couple of sets of clubs in the back of an SUV or Sedan.

I don’t understand these folks who feel that they need to drag their clubs a couple of miles in the vette...no one cares!

I hope it can hold at least one set. I sometimes play at courses other than my regular club and need to take them back home once in a while. I’d hate to have that predicate which vehicle I drive.

That is good news for me since I am an avid golfer. But I am certain the clubs will fit in the passenger seat.

I think maybe that people measure storage in sets of golf clubs, because it is easier for most people to visualize than if you said it stores 15 cubic feet, not because they think a lot of corvette people want to play golf (i think they are actually trying to get away from that demographic anyway)
But I would like to come up with something better than golf clubs, any ideas?.. it stores 2 over head bin suit cases? i think the size of those is fairly standardized and maybe even easier for most people to picture than bags of golf clubs. Bags of groceries? (paper). Gallon jugs of water? Severed heads? (that escalated quickly)

I don’t golf but this is welcome news to me for road trips and the like.

It’s nice having the extra cargo space when needed. I think it’s become a real trademark of the Corvette.

Something cool about a car that can stay competitive on just about any race track while road tripping across the country.

there's no way a golf bag will fit in the frunk...

it'd have to be in the back of the car

Post 2 has some points.
Guess we all will continue to see these noise reduction posts in the C8 forum.

Room for 2 and a briefcase...that defines a Vette for me.
But, golf bags (or a dead body haha), fitting in a trunk seems to be a desire for many in the Vette demographic.

So,this thread is good news I suppose.

agree.

Storage is important for those of us who use the Corvette as our primary or only car. It is not necessary about golf clubs.

When did "2 golf bags" become the standard for a SPORTS car?
In my business I am at various country clubs frequently. I NEVER see Corvettes at any of them.

I play 3x a week and at our little golf course we typically get 3-4 Corvettes including a C6 vert. My buddy just picked up a 911 (will be his daily driver) and can only put his clubs in the Passenger seat.

Our Forester is much more convenient to haul the clubs, but all the guys really like it when I pull up in my HCI C6 Z06 with the B&B muffler valves open, so I accommodate them once a week, more smiles than most of their golf game.
