Default Please hurry up with the C8

Speaking for the unofficial Corvette Codger Society we need to get the C8 out and available. I will be 74 in a few months, have had five Vettes and my wife agrees that I have "one more in me". The sooner I show up and take possession of my next/last Vette I want to have some time to enjoy it before I myself "return to the factory.' So, GM, get a move on, get it out little flaws and all , I can handle that, I had a 1968 Pilot Job and can put up with a few flaws, even some that would be deemed major.

That ain't necessarily so. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 10 years ago at 61. Think I have another 15 in me.

I know where you’re coming from. I have an old friend that’s currently losing his battle to cancer. He’s a lifelong Vette fanatic. I hope for his sake that the car drops soon. I know he’s excited to see it.

I don't think the good people at G.M. want to put anyone through a similar experience you had with that 68 so hang in there.

I feel bad for you guys that are "up there in age". You've been around all this time and saw all the rumors that Chevy was making a mid engine Corvette, and now that they finally are you guys don't have a lot of time left.

Don't feel too bad, you're going to miss out on the c9,c10,...c17. I'll never get to drive the c50 with the LT35 warp drive and teleporter. I always wanted to do the rocketship equivalent of a donut on Mars. Que sera sera!

Actually, I will be around for the C17 most likely. But I'm not too sure I will be interested in anything after the C11 because after that they will probably all be electric and self driving which completely defeats the purpose of a Corvette!

The C9 will be all electric. The C8 is the last of the ICE engines.

doubtful. The electric thing is a niche of sorts. It’ll be decades before electric takes the mainstream. If it even does.

Age is only mind over matter, if you don't mind it doesn't matter...

Because the motor is finally where it belongs in a true sports car, and a small block V8 roaring behind you will be glorious.
I never liked vettes before, only sat in in a c7 once, wasn't impressed. Not a fan of the chrome wheel crowd.
I sold my 2016 Camaro SS last fall, ordered a C8.

I also have a good wife. She's had 3 joint replacement surgeries including a new shoulder this month. She may not be able to get out of the car but won't deny me one last Corvette. It's now at 3000 so we'll have it for at least one summer.
