Long? The C7 will only have 6 model years and the official clock to C8’s just started today. It’s not GM’s fault we’ve seen so much of the development since the first Holden Ute in Jan 2015.

C5=1997-2004 8 years
C6=2005-2013 9 years
C7=2014-2019 6 years
There was only one generational run shorter than the C7 and two that were twice as long. I wouldn't call the most revolutionary change in Corvette history long and drawn out.
