Good to know. My local Corvette mechanic has always been knowledgeable and courteous, however it’s good to hear about Paul, considering Middletown CT is only 80 miles from me. Thanks for the info!

Once again, there is nothing inherent about a ME platform that makes it any more difficult to deal with than what already exists. If your Corvette tech is already a competent individual, I have zero reason to believe they wont still be competent come the end of the year.

However, ancient myths are tough to kill and are passed from generation to generation. The "don't buy the first MY" mantra originated with your grandfather. It's no longer supported by reliability data.

I really did not want to jump into this...
Paul koerner aka the corvette mechanic who does the seminars at carlisle and bowling green works at key chevrolet in middletown ct..
he is so good...he is one of the reasons i did not buy a porche or jaguar...
gm trains their world class gm twchs quite well and for those that knkw how to properly ise the 300k mile database to resolve issues there is no brand that surpasses excellence in service.

If companies like Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini etc. hire new techs to work on their cars all the time, it's called training with instructions, Chevy will do the same. This car isn't a nuclear powered rocket, its a mid-engine car, its still an ICE motor just moved, what's so difficult to wrap your head around that it won't be that much more difficult to work on? I guarantee you've never turned a wrench on a car or you would understand this.

I go well out of my way to go to have service done at a high-volume Corvette dealer. I wouldn't want my C8 to be the first one they worked on, or the one they learned on!

True story! Some of these guys here are funny. They wont let shops change the oil, worry about lug nuts getting scratched, etc and now they have no concerns about mechanics working on a new ME car?LOL

being a former tech guaranteed the technicians are not happy with this platform change, Now some items might be easier to service and some worse. Like any model change there will be a steep learning curve from can bus systems to hydraulics that will be different.you can test all you want, but hands on training is the best!

The average dealer will have an average technician who will probably screw up your car that’s the Chevy way. You have to hunt for a dealer with a good Corvette technician they can be hard to find. Once you do find one things usually go very smoothly.

After spending years on Rennlist and coming back to check out the C8 as a daily driver.... this forum is just as I remember, the most amateur questions I've ever seen. The car was just announced and YES techs will be trained, Chevy will make plenty of SOP's for the techs to utilize to maintain and repair the car, just like any new car.

2) yes, i know the C8 is a different design than a C7, never said it wasn't
3) Service techs have zero responsibility for redesigning anything on the car (other than feedback)
4) Your thought process is completely devoid of any logic
5) Your question, regardless of all of your blathering and pivoting around "what you meant" is premature and borderline idiotic at this point in the car's development. People have attempted to explain why to you, but they're incapable of understanding it for you.
have a nice day.
