Wow, pretty deep stuff here. How long did it take you to come to that conclusion. Bet they won't sell a single C8 the first year.

I had two Fieros, one with the V-6 and one with a 350 V-8. Kinda fun cars.

Agree with not wanting C8 in its first year. The likelihood of issues is tremendous.
I like used cars that have been around for a while.. .
A completely redesigned new model, no way. .
The prospect of falling into the grasp of the local Chevy dealer gives me nightmares.
Plus I am not certain I want and engine in the back seat.
Lets hope the new model does not turn out to be an over improvement effort that fails.
The "poor dealers" stuck with the 2019s will have to give them away.

You will lose that bet.
There are lines around the block just waiting for this car and we know it.
Just that I am not on that line.
You go buy one and tell us how it is.
A few years go by and just how good the car is becomes common knowledge.
Then I buy your garage queen. If you kept it perfect, of course.
BTW, I like red convertibles.
Best of luck to all the new owners. I hope the car is fabulous.

The problem with the Fiero is that GM wouldn't give Pontiac the funding to do what they wanted with the car. We saw with the final model year of the Fiero what it should have been the whole time. There is no way GM is going skimp out on the Corvette the way they did with the Fiero.

Lol, another butt hurt Corvette owner.
You probably believe the Fiero to be a better and more desirable car than the C8.... because it has a manual transmission.

IMHO...these C8 threads are pointless and negative. The threads i read on this forum are what i would expect to see on something like Mustang forum (much the same way lots of vette owners trash mustangs and other domestic brands). Its almost like supposed corvette fans want this car to fail without even seeing the dam car

As an owner of a C5Z and a car "with the engine in the backseat" (dumb statement btw, Corvettes have NEVER had a backseat.... and no mass produced MR car ever started life as a car with a backseat; I digress) I am excited to see the C8!
The fear of the Fiero, IMO is that with a real motor, and a real set of tires and a real attention to the wind tunnel, it would have been a C4 killer, and GM couldnt have an econobox Pontiac topping their range topper. Thats my opinion
Even my 91MR2 "with the engine in the backseat" (the backseat that never existed ) is incredibly fun to drive, its going to be hard to be disappointed in the C8
In closing, I own 2 first MYs: 1991 MR2, and 1997 Regal GS. Havent really had problems with either and we are close to 400k between the 2

For those of you that haven’t placed your C8 orders yet...be greatful for these people trying to cool the product down...
Its gonna be a chaotic product debut, with sky high demand.
No excuses.

Well, GM did produce almost 400K Fieros in a 5 year or so period of production (83-88). That's more than double the number of C7s sold, and more than double the number of Toyota MR2s sold during the same period. That sounds like a fairly successful car. A large number of manufacturers during that period were struggling with engine issues.
However, given what we do know, it's not going to be anything like the Fiero. That was more than 30 years ago, and technology has leapfrogged what was available then.

I wonder if the OP ever OWNED a Fiero….
That aside, we're all entitled to our opinions, but this seems more about trolling and less about a genuine issue.
